Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Area Sales Manager (ASM) to lead and drive our General Trade (GT) business in the Pune region. The ideal candidate will have a strong FMCG background with proven expertise in channel sales, distributor management, and team handling.
Key Responsibilities:
Achieve sales targets and ensure growth in the assigned territory through effective distribution and channel management.
Identify and appoint recent distributors, monitor their performance, and ensure profitability.
Lead, motivate, and guide the sales team to achieve business objectives.
Build robust relationships with retailers, distributors, and key trade partners.
Ensure market coverage, visibility, and product placement as per company standards.
Analyze sales data, market trends,
and competitor activities to identify business opportunities.
Implement trade schemes and promotional activities to drive secondary sales.
Ensure timely collection of outstanding payments and maintain healthy channel hygiene.
Requirements:
Graduate / Postgraduate (MBA preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in General Trade (GT) sales within the FMCG sector.
Robust knowledge of the Pune market and distributor network.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing field sales teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
