Role & responsibilities
Manage end-to-end import logistics operations from China to Kolkata Port.
Coordinate and monitor FOB and CIF shipments to ensure timely delivery.
Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and overseas agents for shipment planning and execution.
Coordinate with Customs House Agents (CHA) for smooth customs clearance of imported consignments.
Prepare, verify, and maintain import documentation including Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, and related documents.
Track shipment status and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
Coordinate freight booking, vessel schedules, and transportation arrangements.
Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
Resolve shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, and logistics-related issues.




Maintain records of import transactions, freight costs, duties, and clearance activities.
Support cost optimization initiatives related to freight and logistics operations.

Preferred candidate profile
Solid knowledge of import logistics, shipping, and international trade procedures.
Experience in handling FOB and CIF shipments.
Understanding of customs clearance processes and import documentation.
Coordination skills for working with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and suppliers.
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and ERP systems.
Valuable communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
