1. Position Overview
The Financial Controller will serve as the strategic financial leader overseeing group-level (Energy , Real Estate & M&A;) consolidation, financial reporting, governance, and treasury operations. This role is responsible for driving financial performance, managing multi-entity structures (SPVs, Subsidiaries, JVs), leading M&A; financial due diligence, and ensuring absolute compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), RERA, tax laws, and lender covenants.
2. Key Responsibilities
Group Financial Control, Governance & Treasury
• Lead financial consolidation, statutory reporting, and monthly/quarterly/annual closing across all operating entities and SPVs. • Establish, enforce, and maintain robust accounting policies, internal financial controls (IFC), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and corporate governance frameworks. • Oversee statutory audits, internal audits, tax compliance (Direct & Indirect), FEMA, and secretarial/regulatory filings. • Manage group treasury operations, cash flow forecasting, working capital optimization, and compliance with debt covenants. • Drive enterprise ERP implementation/upgrades (SAP S/4HANA preferred) and leverage BI tools to automate reporting processes.
Energy Business Finance
• Manage project finance modeling, tariff structure analysis, power purchase agreement (PPA) accounting, and CAPEX/OPEX control across solar, wind, and hybrid assets. • Oversee pre-investment financial modeling for current energy projects, evaluating metrics such as IRR, DSCR, and Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE). • Interface with banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), multilateral lenders, and regulatory bodies for project financing, debt drawdown, and compliance.
Real Estate Business Finance
• Oversee project costing, budgeting, Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting,
and inventory valuation across multiple real estate developments. Job Description – Financial Controller • Ensure strict RERA compliance, escrow bank account management, and construction finance structuring. • Execute rigorous cost-to-complete analyses, variance tracking, and project-wise profitability evaluations.
M&A;, Deal Structuring & Investment Finance • Lead financial due diligence, asset/business valuation (DCF, Trading Comparables, NAV), and transaction structuring for joint ventures, acquisitions, and divestments. • Author and present detailed investment memos, synergy models, and deal structures to the Investment Committee and Board of Directors. • Direct post-merger finance integration, including unifying charts of accounts, financial reporting systems, and internal control environments. • Formulate capital structuring strategies, manage equity infusions, and evaluate exit routes for investors.
Stakeholder Management & Team Leadership • Act as the primary financial liaison to external stakeholders, including Big 4 auditors, private equity investors, lenders, rating agencies, and tax authorities. • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team distributed across corporate functions and operational sites.
3. Qualifications & Candidate Profile Attribute Requirements
Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
MBA (Finance) from a tier-1 institute (added Advantage) / CFA. 6 – 10+ years of total experience; minimum 3 years in a Financial Controller or Head of Finance role within a diversified group. Hands-on experience in at least two of the following domains:
1. Energy / Infrastructure Finance 2. Real Estate / Construction Finance 3. M&A; / Investment Finance Advanced Excel & Financial Modeling, SAP S/4HANA (or Oracle / Zoho / Tally), Power BI. Ind AS, IFRS, Direct & Indirect Tax Laws, RERA, FEMA, Companies Act (2013).
