AtumX is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to lead and optimize our manufacturing operations, including process planning, SOP development, supply chain coordination, and assembly line improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Planning
- Plan and design the manufacturing process from raw materials to finished products
- Define production workflows, equipment requirements, and resource allocation
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and identify optimization opportunities
SOP Creation & Documentation
- Create, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all manufacturing processes
- Ensure documentation meets safety and quality compliance standards
Supply Chain Management
- Manage supplier relationships and coordinate material procurement
- Plan inventory levels and resolve supply chain bottlenecks
- Monitor supplier performance and incoming material quality
Assembly Line Optimization
- Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to increase productivity
- Conduct time studies to reduce cycle time and improve OEE
Quality & Safety Management
- Ensure processes meet quality and safety standards
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track key manufacturing metrics and report on performance and KPIs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing operations or process engineering
- Experience with SOP creation, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies
- Robust analytical, communication, and documentation skills
- Based in Chennai or willing to relocate
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive, electronics, or production-heavy manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing software
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or a related field
