Our client - STAMOD Solutions, is seeking an accomplished senior engineering leader to oversee our India operations, including engineering, tooling, supplier development, sourcing, quality systems and operational excellence.

This role is ideal for an experienced Engineering Head, Technical Director, Plant Head or Operations Director who has spent 25 to 40 years building and leading engineering organizations within automotive, industrial manufacturing or precision engineering companies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating robust systems, mentoring teams, strengthening supplier capabilities and ensuring that every project meets world-class standards of quality, cost and delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership

- Lead engineering teams across sheet metal tooling and plastic injection moulds.
- Approve engineering designs and manufacturing strategies.
- Guide DFM, tool design reviews and engineering problem-solving.
- Review tolerance stack-ups, GD&T; and manufacturability.
- Mentor engineering managers and design engineers.

Tooling & Manufacturing

- Oversee complete tool development lifecycle from RFQ, Tool design, Procurement, Manufacturing, Assembly, to Tool trials, Validation and Customer approval
- Ensure all projects are delivered on schedule and meet customer expectations.

Supplier Development

- Develop and strengthen India's supplier ecosystem through Supplier qualification, Vendor audits, Performance reviews, Capacity assessments and Risk mitigation
- Build long-term strategic partnerships with high-performing suppliers.

Quality Excellence

- Own the quality management system and implement APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, CMM validation and First Article Inspection




- Address customer complaints, initiate Corrective Actions and resolve issues
- Establish systems that prevent quality escapes rather than reacting to them.

Operational Excellence

- Build scalable operational systems including Stage Gate Reviews, Engineering Change Management, Digital Project Dashboards, Supplier Scorecards, Project Risk Reviews, Lessons Learned Database, KPI Management and Weekly Executive Reviews
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies where appropriate.

Leadership

- Lead multidisciplinary teams including Engineering, Design, Tooling, Quality, Supplier Development, Sourcing and Project Management
- Develop future leaders and create a high-performance engineering culture.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a leader with:

- 25 to 40 years of engineering leadership experience
- Experience managing 100+ employees
- Strong exposure to both sheet metal stamping dies and plastic injection moulds
- Automotive Tier-1, Tier-2 or industrial manufacturing background
- Robust supplier development experience
- Extensive tooling knowledge
- Deep understanding of engineering processes
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills
- Ability to build systems and improve organizational capability




- Technical Expertise - Candidates should have substantial experience with:Sheet Metal (Progressive Dies, Transfer Dies, Tandem Dies, Draw Dies, Stamping Operations, Press Tool Design), Plastics (Injection Mould Design, Multi-Cavity Moulds, Hot Runner Systems, Tool Validation, Moldflow Interpretation, Scientific Moulding Principles), Engineering (GD&T;, DFM, Design Reviews, Root Cause Analysis, Engineering Change Management, Process Validation) and Quality (APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, 8D, CAPA, SPC, MSA, PFMEA, DFMEA)
