Roles and Responsibilities :
- Source electrical components such as cables, motors, gauges, and valves from vendors to meet production requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify material needs and develop strategies for procurement.
- Negotiate prices with suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions for the company.
- Manage inventory levels by tracking stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records.
The Role
1.Sourcing and purchasing of LRVP / LRVC components / assemblies.
2.Interaction with supplier for their manufacturing process, send RFQ to supplier, follow up for answers on RFQ’s,
detailed costing, commercial discussion and negotiate in all commercial aspects of Purchasing and Vendor.
3.Create purchase orders in SAP and send to the appropriate supplier as required.
4.Safeguard a stable and positive development of quality, delivery, availability, and cost parameters.
5.To ensure on time material availability for production and be accountable for delivery efficiency measurement
(OTD Min 90%).
6.Inventory management which includes inventory control, proper analysis of inventory (System, physical) and
effective utilization of inventory based on historical consumption and sales forecast to minimize inventory levels.
7.Be aware of and ensure compliance to all relevant VTBA procurement policies and procedures.
8.Actively participate in New product development project.
9.Shipment and invoicing co-ordination.
10.Process returns to supplier for credit, replacement, or repair.
11.Work closely with local quality engineer / Supplier quality engineer to resolve supplier quality issues and improve
supplier quality performance. Participate in supplier quality Audits.
12.Support internal and external ISO audits of procurement processes and procedures.
13.Ensure on time payment to supplier by keeping close coordination with supplier and finance team.
14.Care and be driving force for the company’s overall performance and image. Be familiar with Atlas Copco’s “The
way we do things” and “Business code of practice” and apply in daily operations.
15.Provide feedback to the management team raising “Red flags” wherever necessary at an early
16.stage.
17.Maintain the accuracy of purchase order delivery dates and pricing for both inter-company and external suppliers.
18.Develop Ready reckoners for commodities wherever possible for easy reference.
19.Prepare preliminary Edwards STD AVL for domestic and international projects commodity wise.
20.Develop and maintain a supplier capability and cost database in partnership with the Senior sourcing engineer
and systems procurement manager.
Job Requirements :
- 2-4 years of experience in material procurement or sourcing engineering in an industrial equipment/machinery industry.
- Strong understanding of electrical products including cables, motors, gauges, and valves.
- Excellent negotiation skills with ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
- Proficiency in purchasing processes and procedures.
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2 to 4 years of experience in Procurement, supply chain
management, vendor development and inventory management. Management qualification would be an
advantage.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications and Bill Of Materials (BOMs).
Must have organizational awareness and ability to work in harmony with other functions to achieve business
objectives (team player).
Proficient in SAP MM module is must.
Self-starter able to work with a minimum of supervision.
Have good negotiation skills.
Complete knowledge of costing and commercial terms
Good computer knowledge, must be through in MS Office
