Responsibilities
- Designing and developing BIW welding, assembly, and checking fixtures using CATIA V5 as per customer standards.
- Ensuring accurate creation of 3D models, 2D drawings, and detailed fixture designs for manufacturing readiness.
- Developing robust fixture concepts including clamping, locating, and unit design.
- Improving design efficiency through automation using CATIA VBA macros and PowerCopy templates.
- Performing feasibility studies and tolerance analysis to ensure design quality.
- Acting as coordination point between manufacturing, quality, and project teams for validation.
- Supporting fixture assembly trials and managing engineering changes effectively.
- Ensuring proper maintenance of BOMs, design documentation, and project data.
- Delivering designs within project timelines and customer requirements.
- Ensuring proper documentation and integration of designs into downstream processes.
