The Functional Safety Manager is responsible for defining and performing safety activities, providing assistance to the program teams in delivering the work products of the safety case, and supporting Punch Powertrain teams in developing designs that are compliant with the ISO 26262 Functional Safety Standard while balancing cost. He/She is reporting to the System Engineering Functional Leader.
Job content:
- Development of Functional Safety technical work products and standard
- Leading Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment, item definition, functional safety concept, technical safety requirements, FTA's, FMEA's, and other safety analyses for safety requirements
- Documentation of the Functional Safety work products according to Punch Powertrain documentation guidelines and processes
- Support the development of test case specifications for safety requirements
- Participating in and, as appropriate, leading Functional Safety reviews
- Supporting validation of Functional Safety requirements
- Collaboration with the engineers working at the system, hardware and software development level and assisting them to achieve functional safety objectives,
including assisting with architecture design / definition to develop a cost effect compliant solution
- Provide risk assessment on Overall Safety Management throughout vehicle life cycle, including modification to an existing product
Your profile:
- MSc degree in Software, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 6-10 years of demonstrated progressive responsibility and hands on experience with safety systems
- Expert knowledge of safety engineering and the ISO 26262 standard
- Good knowledge of the FMEA and FTA principles and analysis techniques
- Experience designing and architecting automotive systems that are ISO 26262 compliant
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Must display ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and negotiate and execute contingency plans
- Solid teamwork skills
