Job Title: Barista

Job Summary

The Barista is responsible for delivering excellent customer service and crafting high-quality coffee and beverage offerings in a fast-paced coffee shop environment. This role involves

preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Service:

- Greet customers warmly and engage in friendly conversation to build rapport and enhance the customer experience.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing information on menu items and making recommendations when appropriate.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns with a positive attitude, ensuring customer satisfaction.

2. Drink Preparation:

- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso-based drinks and other beverages according to company recipes and customer specifications.
- Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure consistency and quality in every drink served, adhering to company standards.

3. Food Handling:

- Prepare and serve food items, such as bakery items, sandwiches, and snacks, in accordance with food safety standards.
- Maintain knowledge of food allergens and dietary restrictions to provide appropriate guidance to customers.

4. Cash Handling:

- Process customer transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment accurately.
- Balance the cash register at the end of the shift, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and reporting any discrepancies to the Cafe Manager.

5. Cleanliness and Maintenance:





- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work workplace, including the coffee bar, seating area, and restrooms.
- Regularly clean and sanitize equipment, countertops, and utensils to meet health and safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, and communicate any restocking needs to the Store Manager.

6. Adherence to Company Standards:

- Follow all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, dress code, and punctuality.
- Promote the companys values and mission through positive interactions with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications and Skills

- Experience: Previous experience as a barista or in a customer-facing role is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Knowledge: Basic knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment operation is a plus. Willingness to learn and develop coffee expertise.

- Skills:
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and carrying supplies.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods or special events.
