Role Summary
The AVD & Data Center Engineer is responsible for managing and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments along with on-premises or cloud-based data center infrastructure.
Qualification & Skill -
- Strong experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD
- Virtualization: VMware / Hyper-V
- Bachelor s degree in IT or related field
- 10+ years experience
- Valuable communication and stakeholder management
- Documentation and process orientation
Key Responsibilities:
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) -
- Configure, and manage Azure Virtual Desktop environments
- Monitor AVD performance, capacity, and user experience
- Perform OS patching, upgrades, and compliance management
- Create and manage Host Pools, Session Hosts, Application Groups, and Workspaces.
- Integrate AVD with Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID) and on-premises AD.
- Configure and manage FSLogix user profiles.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, authentication, and application issues.
Sysadmin -
- Manage physical and virtual servers (Windows) in data center environments
- Handle server provisioning, decommissioning, and lifecycle management
- Perform backup and recovery operations, preferably Cohesity and Azure backup
- Support virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V)
- Monitor hardware health, perform firmware updates, and coordinate vendor support
- Configure and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP.
- Managing patching, vulnerability, and managing Group Policy
- Monitor data center infrastructure (compute, storage)
- Create PowerShell scripts for automation
- Administration of Intune (Good to have)
- Managing licensing, terraform, and restoration process
