Job Role: Design and Release Engineer- Chassis Systems
Experience: 6-10 Years
Location: Pune
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, validation, and release of Chassis Systems for vehicle programs.
- Own engineering activities for Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Wheels & Tires, Pedal Systems, and other chassis components.
- Perform CAD design, packaging studies, tolerance analysis, and BOM/PLM management.
- Define system requirements, durability targets, and development plans to meet quality, cost, and timeline objectives.
- Manage end-to-end product development including supplier coordination, design reviews, validation, testing, and engineering change management.
- Prepare and maintain DFMEA, DVP&R;, PFMEA, PPAP, and other product development documents.
- Support vehicle dynamics, suspension kinematics, NVH, durability, fatigue, and homologation activities.
- Resolve design, manufacturing, and field quality issues using Root Cause Analysis.
- Collaborate with CAE, Manufacturing, Testing, Quality,
Supplier Quality, and Program Management teams.
- Drive cost optimization, value engineering, and ensure successful prototype, pilot, and production launches.
Required Skills
- 6-10 years of experience in Automotive Chassis Product Development.
- Hands-on experience in Suspension, Steering, Brake Systems, Wheels & Tires, or other chassis components.
- Strong proficiency in CATIA or Siemens NX.
- Experience with Teamcenter/PLM, BOM Management, and Engineering Change Management (ECM).
- Good understanding of Vehicle Dynamics, Suspension Kinematics, Wheel Alignment, NVH, Durability, and Chassis Integration.
- Hands-on experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R;, PPAP, and product validation processes.
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 Automotive Suppliers.
- Solid communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
