Role Overview

The Senior BW/HANA Data Engineer will design, develop, and support SAP BW on HANA and Native HANA data solutions. The role will also support the SAP BW/HANA Platform Owner in platform governance, delivery management, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence.

Key Skills & Experience

- 810 years of SAP BW/BI experience
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP BW on HANA and Native HANA
- SAP BW data modeling:

- ADSOs
- Composite Providers
- Transformations
- DTPs
- Process Chains
- Query Development

- Strong HANA development experience:

- Calculation Views
- SQLScript
- Advanced SQL
- Performance Tuning
- Data Modeling

- End-to-end data warehousing solution development
- Experience with BW on HANA, BW/4HANA and S/4HANA reporting transformations
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience
- Functional knowledge of Finance (FI/CO), COPA, Supply Chain, Procurement, MM or SD
- Agile delivery experience
- Technical leadership, mentoring, and design review experience
- Robust communication skills and fluent English

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement end-to-end SAP BW/HANA data solutions.




- Gather business requirements and convert them into technical specifications and data models.
- Lead BW/HANA development, including data modeling, data acquisition, transformations, process chains, HANA views, and SQL.
- Support BW modernization and migration initiatives.
- Troubleshoot data quality, processing, and performance issues.
- Collaborate with SAP Basis, Infrastructure, Security, Functional, and Application teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the BW/HANA development team.
- Drive continuous improvements in data architecture and development practices.

Role Scope

- Senior member of the BW/HANA team of approximately 5 members.
- Acts as deputy to the BW/HANA Platform Owner.
- Supports platform governance, delivery management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Works with business users and multiple IT teams.
- Handles multiple projects and tasks in parallel.
- May occasionally require working outside standard hours for project or production support.
