You are responsible for building next generation tools and services that serve consumer ready product information to Nike experiences and back-end teams. We are in the process of modernizing our entire product data platform, building scalable applications and services in the cloud. Our operations tools are used by hundreds of users across the globe to plan, prepare, and activate Nike products across multiple Nike consumer experiences. Our product data services are being updated to unlock Omni-channel business cases, and support billions of API calls per month. We are seeking an experienced Quality & Automation Engineering professional at the Software Engineer II level to build and execute quality assurance strategies, automation frameworks, and enable continuous improvement of our digital services. You will join the quality engineering team within Shared Platforms Services to implement and sustain high-quality, scalable and automated test assets that ensure product integrity and availability at scale.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Software Engineer II - Quality & Automation, you will be part of the Shared Platforms Technology Engineering team, which is responsible for building next generation tools and services that serve consumer ready product information to Nike experiences and back-end teams.

In this role, you will

- Develop, maintain and execute automated test frameworks for functional, regression, integration and API testing using Cucumber, Playwright, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar tools
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitHub Actions) and support unit/regression test coverage and quality gate enforcement
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design, develop, and deploy robust test suites for the digital asset management system and related services
- Partner with developers to enable testability by design, perform peer code and test reviews focused on quality, and mentor engineers on automation best practices




- Ensure quality of the code and products throughout the entire development lifecycle by writing unit, integration, and automated tests
- Leverage GenAI powered capabilities (Cursor, RAG, prompt driven workflows) to author automated test cases, detect defects and accelerate regression coverage
- Implement and support performance, scalability, reliability, extensibility, usability, and availability testing across services, and support performance testing tools like JMeter or Gatling as nice-to-have
- Leverage agile methodology concepts for QA, delivery and continuous improvement
- Participate in sprint planning and other scrum ceremonies; help the team plan and execute quality-related tickets and estimate QA work
- Monitor QA metrics and production quality using Splunk, Grafana, OpenTelemetry/OTEL, Kibana dashboards etc., and help define alerts to identify quality risks early
- Work in full DevOps model across the entire tech stack including designing, implementing, deploying, monitoring and operating services at scale
- Resolve technical quality issues and assist in removing blockers for the team
- Own build, test, release and production support for team-owned capabilities, ensuring stability, incident resolution and continuous improvement
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback
- Drive quality engineering best practices and advocate for an automation-first testing mindset across teams
- Analyze test failures, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve test reliability and maintainability
- Measure and improve automation coverage with a focus on reducing manual validation effort and accelerating release cycles

WHAT YOU BRING

As a Software Engineer II - Quality & Automation, for the Geographies & Marketplace Experiences team, you will be part of a mission critical team focused on ensuring the highest quality of a high-throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant Order Management platform that drives Nike’s Digital transformation and growth strategies.

- A minimum of 4+ years of experience in software development, software quality engineering or test automation (or Bachelor’s degree + 2 years relevant experience)
- Experience working in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline development team environment
- Experience working in a distributed/cloud-based environment (e.g. AWS Services such as ECS, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, SNS/SQS)
- Experience in microservice architecture, domain driven design and RESTful Services using Java and Spring Boot (with ability to write unit and API tests)
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Cucumber, Playwright, Selenium along with JUnit/TestNG/Mockito for unit testing




- Automation scripting using Python and/or Perl and programming in Java, JavaScript or TypeScript as needed to build test harnesses
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins pipelines or GitHub Actions workflows), unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests; experience integrating quality gates is a plus
- Working knowledge of Scrum and Agile principles, with experience in agile QA practices including sprint planning and QA backlog estimation
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Splunk, Grafana, OTEL/OpenTelemetry, Kibana etc.) to capture QA metrics and inform triage
- Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
- Ability to resolve end-to-end quality issues (requirements evaluation, test design, implementation, code reviews, observability, maintenance and support)
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or other relevant subject area, or equivalent experience
- Experience with Continuous Delivery and engineering hygiene preferred

Nice-to-have:

- Working knowledge of mobile app frameworks (iOS/Android) for end-to-end QA
- Experience with performance and security testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, OWASP ZAP etc.)
- Exposure to eCommerce and Supply Chain domain areas like warehouse management, fulfilment, especially from a quality perspective
- Generative AI-based QE acceleration experience (Cursor, RAG, prompt workflows, etc.)
