- Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash, and bank transactions.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
- Prepare Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, MIS reports, and other management reports.
- Monitor receivables and payables, including customer outstanding and vendor payments.
- Handle GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and government authorities.
- Ensure proper accounting of purchase, sales, inventory, expenses, fixed assets, and manufacturing-related transactions.
- Review and control inventory accounting, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
- Develop and monitor product/job costing, manufacturing overheads, and production costs.
- Prepare costing reports and variance analysis comparing actual costs against budgets/standards.
- Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, working-capital planning, and financial analysis.
- Monitor cash flow and fund requirements and coordinate with banks for working-capital facilities.
- Establish and maintain appropriate internal financial controls.
- Review accounting entries, reconciliations, journal vouchers, and supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Accounting Standards/Ind AS and company policies.
- Support year-end audit and statutory audit requirements.
- Supervise and guide the accounts team and allocate day-to-day responsibilities.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reduce costs, and strengthen financial controls.
- Provide financial information to management for business and operational decision-making.
Manufacturing-Specific ResponsibilitiesFor a manufacturing company, the Accounts Manager may additionally be expected to handle:
- Bill of Materials (BOM) and product costing.
- Raw-material consumption analysis.
- Production cost and conversion-cost analysis.
- WIP and finished-goods valuation.
- Factory overhead allocation.
- Scrap, wastage, rejection, and process-loss accounting.
- Standard costing vs. actual costing and variance analysis.
- Inventory reconciliation between ERP, stores, production, and accounts.
- Capital expenditure and fixed-asset accounting.
- Analysis of machine/production-line profitability.
- Support for cost reduction and margin improvement initiatives.
QualificationsTypically:
- B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / CA Inter or equivalent.
- 5–10+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing workplace.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, statutory compliance, and financial accounting.
- Experience with ERP/accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, Dynamics, or similar systems.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial analysis.
