Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced, proactive, and detail-oriented Manager – Audit, Accounts & Compliance to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end finalisation of accounts, planning and executing various audits, ensuring statutory compliance (GST, TDS, Income Tax), managing monthly client reporting, and supervising day-to-day staff activities.
The ideal candidate will bridge client deliverables and partner reviews, ensuring high-quality work, adherence to professional standards, and timely completion of assignments.
1. Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Finalisation of Accounts & Financial ReportingLead the finalisation of financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow Statements, and Notes to Accounts) for corporate and non-corporate entities (Proprietorships, Partnerships, LLPs, Private Ltd companies).
- Ensure accounting policies comply with applicable Accounting Standards (AS / Ind AS) and Schedule III of the Companies Act, 2013.
- Supervise the preparation and review of monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports, profitability statements, ratio analysis, and budget-vs-actual variance analysis for clients.
- Resolve complex accounting entries, year-end provisions, depreciation schedules, and ledger reconciliations.
2. Audit & Assurance
- Statutory Audits: Plan, lead, and complete statutory audits of corporate and non-corporate entities in compliance with Standards on Auditing (SAs) and the Companies Act.
- Tax Audits: Lead Tax Audits under Section 44AB of the Income Tax Act; prepare and review Forms 3CA/3CB and Form 3CD along with all annexures.
- Internal Audits: Plan and conduct risk-based internal audits, evaluate internal financial controls (IFC), identify process gaps, and prepare comprehensive audit reports with management recommendations.
- GST Audits & Annual Reconciliations: Perform GST reconciliation, audit reviews, and preparation of Form GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C.
- Manage audit documentation, maintain standardized working paper files (WPs), address audit queries, and prepare draft audit reports for partner sign-off.
3. Taxation & Regulatory Compliances
- GST Compliance: Supervise monthly/quarterly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B), conduct input tax credit (ITC) reconciliation with GSTR-2B, and handle e-invoicing and e-way bill workflows.
- TDS & TCS Compliance: Oversee calculation, monthly challan payments, and quarterly TDS return filings (24Q, 26Q, 27Q), along with issuance of Form 16/16A and correction statements.
- Assessment & Notice Support: Draft responses and collate supporting documentation for scrutiny assessments, inquiries, and notices from Income Tax, GST, and ROC departments.
- Ensure compliance with UDIN generation and filing deadlines across all relevant government portals.
4. Team Management & Daily Operations
- Manage day-to-day task allocation, workflow scheduling, and assignment tracking for article assistants and junior staff.
- Review work prepared by junior team members before it is submitted to Partners for final sign-off, ensuring minimal review notes.
- Mentor, train, and guide article trainees on audit methodologies, tax portals, accounting software, and compliance checklists.
- Conduct regular status meetings to ensure statutory due dates (GST, TDS, Tax Audit, MCA filings) are tracked and met without penalties.
5. Client Relationship Management
- Act as the direct point of contact for clients’ accounts and finance heads for day-to-day operational queries and document collation.
- Coordinate with clients to ensure smooth flow of accounting data, vouchers, and audit requirements.
- Maintain a professional, solution-oriented approach to resolving client issues and improving their financial processes.
- Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- Educational Background:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Fresher to 2+ years of post-qualification experience, OR
- Semi-Qualified CA (CA Finalist / Inter) / M.Com / MBA (Finance) with 5+ years of extensive experience in a reputable CA firm.
- Work Experience:
- Demonstrated track record of independently handling accounts finalisation, Tax Audits, and Statutory Audits.
- Proven experience in leading, reviewing, and managing a team of article assistants/executives.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced working knowledge of Tally Prime, MS Excel (Advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data reconciliation).
- Familiarity with taxation software (Winman) and cloud accounting platforms (e.g., Zoho Books) is an advantage.
- Thorough hands-on familiarity with the Income Tax Portal, GST Portal, TRACES, and MCA V3 Portal.
- Core Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of Indian Income Tax, GST laws, Companies Act, and ICAI Standards.
- Excellent leadership, delegation, and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client correspondence and report writing.
- High attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under peak season deadlines.
