WordPress - Web Designer – UI/UX
Main Responsibilities
- Build responsive websites using WordPress and Elementor Pro.
- Create wireframes, page layouts, prototypes and complete website designs.
- Design modern, clean and conversion-focused websites in Figma.
- Work with Astra and GeneratePress themes.
- Build websites and landing pages using Webflow and Framer.
- Convert Figma designs or reference websites into fully functional websites.
- Create homepages, service pages, blog pages, landing pages, pricing pages, comparison pages and contact pages.
- Design websites for affiliate marketing, coupon codes, directories, comparison platforms and digital marketing projects.
- Create reusable website sections, templates, components, headers and footers.
- Ensure every website works properly on mobile, tablet and desktop.
- Configure basic on-page SEO using Rank Math.
- Improve website speed, image optimization and Core Web Vitals.
- Maintain and update existing company websites.
- Fix responsive-design, layout, styling and plugin-related issues.
- Coordinate with SEO executives, content writers and web developers.
- Test forms, buttons, menus, links and website layouts before publishing.
Must-Have Requirements
1. Figma Skills
The candidate should know:
- Wireframing and website-layout planning.
- Auto Layout.
- Components and variants.
- Reusable design systems.
- Typography, spacing and colour styles.
- Responsive desktop, tablet and mobile designs.
- Interactive prototypes.
- Developer handoff.
- Exporting properly optimized design assets.
- Creating original designs based on reference websites.
2. WordPress and Elementor
The candidate should have practical experience with:
- WordPress installation and website setup.
- Elementor and Elementor Pro.
- Global fonts, colours and website settings.
- Responsive editing for mobile, tablet and desktop.
- Elementor Theme Builder.
- Custom headers and footers.
- Blog templates and archive pages.
- Forms,
pop-ups and call-to-action sections.
- Reusable templates and global widgets.
- Basic plugin installation and configuration.
- Identifying plugin conflicts.
- Making changes without unnecessarily installing too many plugins.
3. Astra and GeneratePress
The candidate should know how to:
- Install and configure Astra and GeneratePress.
- Customize headers, footers, containers and sidebars.
- Set global typography, colours and spacing.
- Create lightweight and fast-loading websites.
- Use starter templates without making the website look copied.
- Work with child themes or custom CSS when required.
4. Webflow
The candidate should know:
- Webflow Designer.
- Responsive layouts and breakpoints.
- Flexbox and CSS Grid.
- Components and reusable sections.
- CMS Collections.
- Forms and basic interactions.
- Animations and transitions.
- SEO settings.
- Custom-domain connection and website publishing.
5. Framer
The candidate should know:
- Framer website building.
- Responsive layouts and breakpoints.
- Components and reusable sections.
- CMS pages.
- Forms.
- Basic animations and interactions.
- SEO settings.
- Custom domains and publishing.
6. Rank Math and Basic SEO
The candidate does not need to be an SEO expert, but should understand:
- Rank Math setup and configuration.
- SEO titles and meta descriptions.
- Heading structure: H1, H2, H3.
- Image alt text.
- Clean URLs.
- Internal linking.
- Canonical URLs.
- XML sitemaps.
- Breadcrumbs.
- Basic schema settings.
- Index and no-index settings.
- Designing pages without damaging SEO structure.
7. UI/UX Design Knowledge
The candidate should understand:
- Visual hierarchy.
- Typography and spacing.
- Colour combinations.
- User-friendly navigation.
- Clear calls to action.
- Conversion-focused landing pages.
- Form and checkout usability.
- Mobile-first design.
- Consistent design across pages.
- Basic accessibility, including readable text and colour contrast.
- Designing according to the target audience and business purpose.
8. Basic Technical Knowledge
The candidate should have at least basic knowledge of:
- HTML and CSS.
- Basic JavaScript understanding.
- Custom CSS inside WordPress, Webflow and Framer.
- Domains, DNS and hosting basics.
- Website migration and backup basics.
- Browser developer tools.
- Chrome, Safari and mobile-browser testing.
- Basic troubleshooting of layout and responsiveness issues.
9. Website PerformanceThe candidate should understand:
- Google PageSpeed Insights.
- Image resizing and compression.
- WebP or AVIF images.
- Lazy loading.
- Caching.
- Reducing unnecessary plugins.
- Font optimization.
- Mobile-page speed.
- Preventing excessive animations and heavy page elements.
- Experience and EligibilityMinimum 1 year of practical web-design experience is preferred.
- Candidates with at least 6 months of strong internship, freelance or project experience may also apply.
- A degree is not mandatory if the candidate has a solid portfolio.
- Must provide at least 3 live website links.
- Must provide Figma designs, prototypes or portfolio samples.
- Should have built at least one website using WordPress and Elementor.
- Practical experience with Webflow and Framer is required.
- Must be able to independently complete a website from requirement to final publishing.
- Good communication and time-management skills are required.
- Must be able to follow references while creating an original and professional design.
- Should be comfortable handling multiple websites and deadlines.
