Deliver safe, high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring strict radiation protection, zero leakage compliance, adherence to AERB guidelines, and seamless reporting coordination in a digitally enabled clinic environment.
Core Responsibilities
Diagnostic Imaging Execution
- Perform X-ray imaging as per prescribed protocol.
- Verify correct patient identity, study selection, and consent before exposure.
- Position patients accurately to minimize repeat scans. Maintain defined image quality benchmarks.
Radiation Safety & AERB Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) guidelines.
- Use and maintain Thermoluminescent Dosimeter (TLD) badges as mandated.
- Monitor and record TLD readings; escalate abnormal readings immediately.
- Ensure proper use of lead aprons, thyroid shields, and protective barriers.
- Verify shielding integrity and prevent any radiation leakage. Maintain exposure logs and radiation safety records.
- Support periodic radiation surveys and inspections.
Zero Leakage & Safety Controls
- Confirm room shielding and warning signage are intact and compliant.
- Ensure no unauthorized personnel are exposed during imaging.
- Adhere strictly to ALARA principles.
- Immediately report any equipment malfunction or suspected leakage.
Equipment Readiness & Quality Checks
- Conduct daily warm-up and operational checks.
- Maintain calibration logs and preventive maintenance records.
- Escalate faults promptly to BME/vendor service team.
Doctor & Reporting Coordination
- Coordinate with radiologist/reporting partner for on-time availability.
- Upload images immediately to PACS/reporting system.
- Track report turnaround time to ensure SLA compliance.
- Escalate delays proactively to Centre Manager.
Documentation & Audit Readiness
- Maintain digital imaging logs and compliance documentation.
- Ensure AERB licenses, certificates, and radiation records are audit ready.
- Participate in internal and external compliance audits.

- Zero radiation safety violations
- Zero unexplained radiation exposure or leakage incidents
- TLD compliance – 100% adherence
- Minimal repeat scans due to technical errors
- Report turnaround within defined SLA

Experience & Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Radiography (mandatory).
- Valid registration as per state norms.
- 2–6 years in X-ray or clinic-level imaging preferred.
- Familiarity with AERB compliance and TLD usage required.
