Role Description The Fire Protection System Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This role involves designing fire protection and safety systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring alignment with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include developing system layouts and drawings using CAD tools, preparing technical documentation and specifications, and coordinating with project engineers, contractors, and authorities for approvals. The designer will conduct research on applicable fire safety regulations and technologies, participate in system testing and validation, and support installation teams with design clarifications as needed. The role also requires maintaining accurate project records, contributing to design improvements,



and collaborating with colleagues to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Systems Design skills with an understanding of fire protection and safety system architecture.
- Candidates should possess Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills for preparing detailed drawings, layouts, and documentation.
- Candidates should possess Testing and Research skills to validate system performance and stay updated on codes, standards, and best practices.
- Candidates should possess foundational Electronics knowledge relevant to fire detection, alarm, and control systems.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire & Safety Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of local and international fire protection codes and standards (e.g., NBC, NFPA, IS) is highly beneficial.
- Robust analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai and manage multiple projects and deadlines responsibly.
- The candidate must have five plus years of working experience in designing of fire protection systems such as hydrant, sprinkler, fire detection& alarm, public address, MVWS, Foam and gas suppression system etc.
