Lead – New Business Development, Resort Innovation & Program Leadership (Consultant - 6 months program)

Location: Mumbai (MHRIL Office)

Role Purpose

MHRIL is seeking an experienced leader to drive the end-to-end development, validation, and scale-up of new resort concepts and growth initiatives.

The role will be responsible for translating strategic opportunities into executable business programs by leading concept development, business case creation, pilot launches, operational readiness, stakeholder management, and scaling plans. The individual will act as the single-point owner across strategy, design, operations, finance, marketing, technology, procurement, and external partners to ensure successful execution of new business initiatives.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong program management, business development, and execution capabilities, with the ability to manage complex cross-functional projects from ideation through commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

1. New Business Development & Opportunity Assessment

- Identify and evaluate new resort concepts, adjacent business opportunities, and growth initiatives.
- Assess market attractiveness, customer demand, competitive landscape, and commercial viability.
- Develop business cases, financial models, investment hypotheses, and growth plans.
- Recommend initiatives based on strategic and commercial priorities.

2. End-to-End Program Leadership

- Lead large, complex cross-functional programs from concept through launch and stabilization.
- Develop project charters, execution roadmaps, timelines, resource plans, and governance structures.
- Monitor milestones, risks, dependencies, budgets, and decision-making processes.
- Ensure on-time delivery against agreed business objectives.

3. Pilot Development & Commercial Validation

- Design and execute pilot initiatives to validate key business assumptions.
- Define success metrics, KPIs, commercial targets, and learning frameworks.




- Establish tracking mechanisms and governance reviews.
- Translate pilot outcomes into scale-up recommendations and implementation plans.

4. Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management

- Coordinate with Operations, Marketing, Finance, Design, Technology, Procurement, Development, and Project teams.
- Drive alignment among senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Facilitate decision-making and issue resolution across functions.
- Provide regular executive-level updates on project progress and business outcomes.

5. Business Launch & Operational Readiness

- Partner with operating teams to ensure readiness for launch.
- Define operating models, service frameworks, organization structure, and success metrics.
- Monitor transition from project phase to business-as-usual operations.
- Ensure continuous improvement based on operational learnings.

6. Partnership & Ecosystem Development

- Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic partners, consultants, agencies, operators, and service providers.
- Drive negotiations, scope management, and performance reviews.
- Build partnerships that enhance execution capability and accelerate business growth.

Preferred Experience

- 12-18+ years of experience in program management, strategy execution, business transformation, new business development, growth initiatives, or business incubation.
- Proven track record of leading large cross-functional projects from strategy through execution.
- Experience building, launching, scaling, or transforming businesses, products, customer propositions, or operating models.
- Strong stakeholder management experience across multiple business functions.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex programs with multiple dependencies.
- Experience developing business cases, commercial models, and growth plans.
- Hospitality experience is desirable but not mandatory.
