Job Summary

n

A reputed FMCG company in Nepal is looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee end-to-end production operations for its Biscuits & Cookies manufacturing unit . The position will be responsible for achieving production targets while maintaining high standards of product quality, food safety, operational efficiency, cost control, hygiene, and workplace safety .

Key Responsibilities

n

1. Production Planning & Operations

n

n
- Plan, organize, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules in line with business requirements.
n
- Ensure timely achievement of production targets while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
n
- Monitor production processes and identify bottlenecks, downtime, and operational inefficiencies.
n
- Optimize utilization of manpower, raw materials, machinery, and production capacity .
n

2. Quality & Food Safety

n

n
- Ensure production processes comply with established quality, food safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards .
n
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams to maintain consistent product quality and minimize defects, rejection, and wastage.
n
- Ensure proper documentation, traceability, corrective actions, and compliance with internal and external audits.
n

n

3. New Product Development

n

n
- Lead and coordinate recent product development (NPD) initiatives, including formulation, trials, testing, packaging, and commercialization.
n
- Work closely with R&D;, QA, Procurement, Sales, and Marketing teams for successful product launches.
n
- Identify new ingredients, technologies, product concepts, and process improvements based on market trends and consumer requirements.
n

4. Maintenance & Engineering Coordination

n

n




- Coordinate with Engineering/Maintenance teams to ensure timely preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment.
n
- Minimize machine downtime and improve overall equipment availability and production efficiency.
n
- Support initiatives related to process automation, equipment upgrades, and capacity enhancement.
n

n

5. Cost & Resource Management

n

n
- Monitor production costs, material consumption, wastage, energy utilization, and overall operational expenses.
n
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, waste minimization, yield improvement, and productivity enhancement .
n
- Ensure optimum utilization of production resources within approved budgets.
n

n

6. Team & People Management

n

n
- Lead, supervise, and develop production staff and operators.
n
- Allocate manpower and work assignments based on production requirements.
n
- Conduct staff training on production processes, food safety, hygiene, GMP, workplace safety, and operational procedures.
n
- Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
n

n

7. Cross-Functional Coordination

n

n
- Coordinate effectively with Sales, Marketing, QA/QC, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, and R&D; teams.
n
- Ensure production plans are aligned with demand forecasts, raw-material availability, and delivery requirements.
n

n

8. Reporting & Performance Monitoring

n

n
- Monitor and analyze production, quality, maintenance, inventory, wastage, productivity, and operational reports.
n
- Prepare monthly production and performance reports for management.
n




- Track KPIs and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve production performance.
n

n

9. Continuous Improvement & Compliance

n

n
- Identify and implement initiatives to improve productivity, yield, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness .
n
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, food safety requirements, occupational safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
n
- Maintain a safe, hygienic, organized, and efficient production environment.
n

n

10. Shift Management

n

n
- Ensure smooth production operations across assigned shifts.
n
- Must be willing to work night and rotational shifts as required by business and production needs.
n

n

Qualification & Experience

n

n
- B.Tech/M.Tech in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.
n
- MBA/PGDM in Operations, Production, or Management will be an added advantage.
n
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in Biscuit & Cookies manufacturing/production , preferably within the FMCG/food manufacturing industry.
n
- At least 3–4 years of experience in a managerial/supervisory production role .
n
- Strong hands-on knowledge of biscuit/cookies production processes, production planning, quality control, food safety, GMP, hygiene, and manufacturing operations .
n
- Experience in new product development, formulation trials, process improvement, cost optimization, and production team management will be preferred.
