Job Title: Sewing Trainee
Department: Production
Reports To: Sewing Supervisor / Line Supervisor
Job Purpose
The Sewing Trainee will undergo training in garment sewing operations and learn to operate sewing machines safely and efficiently. The trainee will develop the skills required to meet quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and perform basic sewing operations as per the training instructions.
- Operate sewing machines under the guidance of the supervisor.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain quality standards while performing sewing operations.
- Handle garments and materials carefully to avoid damage.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Follow all safety rules and company policies.
- Attend training sessions regularly and actively improve sewing skills.
- Report machine issues or quality problems to the supervisor.
- Work as part of a team to achieve production targets.
Skills & Requirements
- Basic understanding of garment manufacturing is preferred.
- Willingness to learn sewing operations.
- Valuable hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety and quality standards is an advantage.
