Job title: Automation Engineer - PLC & Controls, Firetec

Reporting relationship: Product Development Manager - Firetec, Water Mist Systems

We are seeking a PLC & Controls / Automation Engineer to join our Water Mist development team. Reporting to the Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for PLC programming, control logic development, system monitoring, and the integration of control systems for next-generation Water Mist fire suppression solutions.

This role is hands-on and focused on electrical architecture, control panel design, component integration, and compliance with international standards.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain PLC programs for Water Mist fire suppression control systems.

• Implement control logic for system operation, monitoring, and fault handling.

• Configure system monitoring, alarms, and user interface logic (HMI).

• Integrate PLCs with sensors, actuators, and field devices.

• Implement and maintain communication protocols between system components.

• Support system commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting in lab and in office.





• Participate in system validation and functional testing activities.

• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical engineers and testing personnel to ensure correct system behavior.

• Support FMEA and risk analysis from a controls and software perspective.

• Maintain software documentation, version control, and test records.

• Support sourcing, validation, and qualification of electrical and electronic components.

• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards and fire system regulations.

• Propose improvements to control strategies to enhance performance and reliability.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

• 3–7 years of experience in PLC programming and industrial control systems.

• Experience in Fire Suppression industry is a plus.
