Job Description
ABOUT
n
Hack2skill is an innovation management platform that designs and runs large-scale hackathons, bootcamps, workshops, vibe coding challenges and more for some of the world’s biggest brands like Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Adobe, Meta, Intel, and more. We’ve trained 8 million+ innovators, partnered with 10,000+ institutes including IITs and NITs, and hold a Guinness World Record for the largest Agentic AI hackathon — 1,941 developers, 30 hours, one floor.
n
The events we run are deeply technical in nature with developers & builders as our primary target audience. The video content we create lives alongside this world. It needs to speak to developers, students, and technical decision-makers, not a general consumer audience.
n
n
THE ROLE
n
n
What you’ll be doing:
n
n
You’ll own the full video pipeline at Hack2skill. You’ll be working across multiple concurrent programs, each with its own identity, audience, and deadlines. You’re expected to move fast without cutting corners.
n
n
Short-form videos — Reels, Shorts, Stories, WhatsApp broadcasts
n
n
- Edit and create short-form videos (15–90 seconds) for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and WhatsApp broadcasts
n
- Hook-first editing — the first 3 seconds need to earn the next 30. Every frame earns its place.
n
- Registration countdown videos, program teasers, speaker reveals, leaderboard highlights
n
- Cut-downs from longer event footage repurposed for social feeds
n
- Quick turnaround — same-day or next-day delivery expected for time-sensitive content
n
n
n
Long-form narrative videos — Event films, program stories, impact recaps
n
n
- Produce 3–5 minute narrative films for hackathon events, program launches, and annual impact recaps
n
- Structure a story arc from raw footage: problem → energy → build → outcome → emotion. Not just a montage.
n
- Interview-driven content featuring participants, mentors, and client-side partners
n
- Write or closely collaborate on scripts and voice-over copy where needed
n
- End-to-end ownership: briefing, rough cut, feedback loops, final delivery
n
n
n
GIFs & motion graphic videos — Animated content for social and web
n
n
- Create looping GIFs for social announcements, countdowns, and program milestones
n
- Design and animate motion graphic videos: stat reveals, timeline animations, data visualisations
n
- Build lower-third animations, kinetic typography, and branded transition sequences
n
- Animate social media story templates and reusable motion assets for the team
n
- Output optimised files for web (GIF under 8MB), social (MP4), and email embeds
n
n
n
Post-event videos — Recap, highlights, winner stories
n
n
- Edit live-event highlight reels within 24–48 hours of event wrap — fast turnaround is non-negotiable
n
- Create winner announcement and awards ceremony cuts for social and press
n
- Build longer event recap films (5–10 mins) for client reporting, LinkedIn, and platform use
n
- Capture the atmosphere: the 2 AM coding session, the mentor huddle, the winning reveal — these moments tell the story
n
- Coordinate with photographers and on-ground team to ensure footage coverage is brief-ready
n
n
n
Product & platform videos — Feature walkthroughs, explainers, onboarding
n
n
- Create screen-recorded + narrated explainer videos for Hack2skill’s platform features
n
- Produce onboarding videos for participants, organizers, and enterprise clients
n
- Animate product flows and feature announcements for launch campaigns
n
- Keep a library of reusable platform footage, assets, and template segments
n
n
n
REQUIREMENTS

What we’re looking for:
n

Must-haves
n
n
- 2-5 years of qualified video editing experience (agency, in-house, or freelance)
n
- A portfolio with at least one short-form video, one long-form narrative piece, and one motion graphic or animated video
n
- Proficiency in Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro for editing
n
- Working knowledge of After Effects or an equivalent motion tool for GIFs and animations
n
- Strong instinct for music selection, audio mixing, and sound design
n
- Experience delivering multiple video formats in parallel across different content tracks
n
- Ability to manage your own project queue without hand-holding
n
n

Good to have
n
n
- Experience editing content for technical audiences (developer communities, edtech, B2B SaaS)
n
- Comfort with on-ground filming at live events (camera handling, basic lighting awareness)
n
- Familiarity with AI tools for editing, captioning, or rough-cut generation
n
- Basic graphic design sensibility — you’ve worked in Figma or Photoshop alongside your editing work
n
- YouTube channel or social page where you’ve published your own work
