Job Summary

- The Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and governing all project releases across the SAP S/4HANA implementation landscape. This role ensures seamless deployment of configuration, custom developments, integrations, data migration, and testing deliverables from development through production while minimizing business disruption and ensuring compliance with release management processes.
- Key Responsibilities
- • Define and manage the end-to-end release management strategy for the SAP S/4HANA program.
- • Develop and maintain release calendars, deployment schedules, and cutover plans.
- • Coordinate release activities across SAP functional teams, technical teams, integration partners, testing teams, and business stakeholders.
- • Govern transport management, code migration, and deployment processes across SAP environments.




- • Lead release readiness reviews and ensure all quality gates and approvals are completed prior to deployment.
- • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and contingencies related to releases and production deployments.
- • Support cutover planning, hypercare activities, and post-release validation.
- • Ensure adherence to change management, compliance, and audit requirements.
- • Track and report release metrics, deployment status, and overall release health to program leadership.

Required Qualifications

- • 8+ years of IT delivery experience with at least 3 years in Release Management for large-scale ERP programs.
- • Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA implementation projects, preferably greenfield deployments.
- • Strong understanding of SAP transport management, deployment processes, testing cycles, and cutover management.
- • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.
- • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills.
- • PMP, ITIL, SAP Activate, or equivalent certifications are desirable.

- • Transport management: TR lifecycle (DEV → QA → PREPRD → PRD), sequencing, dependencies
- • Transport types: Workbench vs Customizing, ToC vs TR usage and constraints
- • Import control: scheduling, import queues, return codes analysis, post-import checks
- • Conflict prevention: Downgrade Protection, Cross Reference Check (CRC), collision handling
- • Landscape management: multi-track / parallel landscape, retrofit awareness
- • Validation process: TR-by-TR sign-off, UAT evidence linkage, naming conventions enforcement
- • Error handling: debug failed imports, rework transport sequence, object inconsistencies
- • Cutover readiness: mass transport management, alignment with batch windows & freeze periods
- • Tooling & tracking: SolMan monitoring, ChaRM reporting, Jira alignment & traceability
