A well reputed Tier One Law Firm is looking to hire a Direct Tax Associate with 4–6 years of post-qualification experience for its Mumbai office. The ideal candidate should have solid exposure to M&A; Tax, International Tax, Corporate Tax Advisory, and Transaction Tax matters. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex domestic and cross-border transactions while advising leading multinational corporations, private equity funds, and high-profile clients. Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on domestic and cross-border tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and corporate reorganisations.
- Provide transaction tax support for M&A;, private equity, venture capital, and inbound and outbound investments.
- Advise on International Tax matters, including cross-border structuring, tax treaties, withholding tax, permanent establishment issues, and transfer pricing-related aspects.




- Structure tax-efficient transactions and provide strategic tax planning solutions.
- Conduct tax due diligence and identify potential tax risks and liabilities in transactions.
- Draft and review tax opinions, legal memoranda, transaction documents, and advisory notes.
- Advise clients on corporate tax, capital gains, business restructuring, and regulatory developments.
- Work closely with corporate, banking, capital markets, and private equity teams on multidisciplinary transactions.
- Keep clients informed of changes in tax laws and regulations affecting their businesses.

Candidate Profile
- 4–6 years of post-qualification experience in Direct Tax practice.
- Strong experience in M&A; Tax, International Tax, Transaction Tax, and Corporate Tax Advisory.
- Exposure to cross-border transactions and tax structuring assignments.
- Experience in conducting tax due diligence and drafting tax opinions.
