Community & Social Media Manager

8ight is building camera-first smart glasses designed for natural, hands-free first-person capture .
As we prepare for a global launch, we are looking for a Community & Social Media Manager to help us grow an active community around consumer technology, cameras, wearables, creators, and first-person storytelling.

This is not just a content-scheduling position. You will participate in real conversations, build relationships with early supporters, answer product questions, collect useful feedback, and help shape how people discover and understand 8ight.

What you will do

Manage and grow our presence across platforms such as Reddit, Discord, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook Groups, and YouTube
Find relevant communities and conversations where 8ight can participate naturally and provide value
Respond to questions, comments, feedback, and criticism clearly and professionally
Turn product updates, technical information, development progress, and use cases into engaging community content
Build and maintain a practical social media and community calendar
Create discussions that appeal to creators, camera enthusiasts, travelers, athletes, technology enthusiasts, and early adopters
Moderate our owned communities and maintain a positive, useful environment
Identify potential ambassadors, creators, testers, partners, and highly engaged supporters
Support product announcements, AMAs, livestreams, crowdfunding activity, and launch campaigns
Monitor sentiment, recurring questions, objections, and product feedback
Report weekly on community growth, engagement, feedback, and opportunities

What we are looking for

At least 2 years of professional experience in community management, social media,



digital marketing, or a related role
Strong written and spoken English
Experience managing at least two relevant social or community platforms
Strong understanding of how communication should differ across platforms such as Reddit, Discord, LinkedIn, and Instagram
Interest in consumer electronics, cameras, wearables, gaming hardware, mobile devices, creator technology, or similar products
Ability to understand technical information and explain it clearly without exaggerating claims
Good judgment when responding to criticism, misinformation, conflict, or sensitive questions
Strong organization and the ability to work independently in a remote environment
A proactive mindset and the ability to suggest ideas rather than waiting for daily instructions
Availability to work full time with regular overlap during GMT+8 business hours

Nice to have

Experience with a consumer-electronics, hardware, camera, wearable, gaming, or mobile-technology brand
Experience supporting a Kickstarter or other crowdfunding campaign
Experience with creator, influencer, ambassador, or UGC outreach
Experience growing an early-stage community from a small starting point
Strong practical knowledge of Reddit and Discord
Basic content-production skills using Canva, CapCut, Adobe tools, or similar software
Familiarity with community analytics,



social listening, UTMs, referral tracking, and reporting
Personal interest in photography, videography, action cameras, travel, sports, or creator technology

What success looks like

During your first three months, you should be able to:
Develop a strong understanding of 8ight, our product, our audience, and our communication style
Establish a reliable publishing, engagement, and reporting rhythm
Identify the communities and audience segments most relevant to the product
Improve the quality and speed of our responses to followers and potential users
Generate useful product and messaging insights from community conversations
Help grow genuinely engaged followers, community members, website visitors, and early supporters

We care more about building the right audience than inflating vanity metrics.
