* Responsible for designing the chassis and sub systems.
* Understand vehicle/sub system functional objectives, inter dependencies and
study the packaging, serviceability, plant assembly process/ decking and cost
implications.
* Define appropriate system-level engineering targets to meet function,
quality and attribute requirements.
* Prepare Failure Mode Avoidance activities including DFMEA ensuring all
relevant documentation
* Conduct the resolution of design, attribute or packaging incompatibilities
through the appropriate cross-functional meetings.
* Generate and implement VA/VE ideas to reduce the product material cost.
* Drive root cause investigations for structural, packaging, and
manufacturing defects and derive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using
8D, 5-Why, etc.Ideal Candidate
Ideal Candidate
* Overall 3 to 5 years of experience in structural design and has been a part
of the development of the chassis or other structural parts for a two wheeler.
* Relevant knowledge of PLM platforms. Experience with Dassault 3DExperience
a plus.
* Positive understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for
Assembly (DFA) and Design for Serviceability(DFS).
* Well versed with the manufacturing aspects of the sheet metal fabrication,
forming and welding.
* Basic understanding of TQM principles, Quality in Design Philosophy.
* Basic understanding of FEA analysis.
* Good knowledge on GD&T; and well versed with modelling and drafting of
drawings on solid works . This is a must.
* Understanding of vehicle systems and its dependency on vehicle parts and
assembly parameters is a plus.
* College Design Competition Experience a plus (FSAE, BAJA, AERO SAE, SHELL
ECO MARATHON, etc.)
