Pearson is looking for Professional Scorers for the ACT to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for evaluating challenging written responses that an artificial intelligence system couldn't assess. This means you'll handle outlier responses that may not closely align with the prompts, requiring you to make nuanced scoring decisions based on a stringent set of rubrics.

Responsibilities

- Evaluate student responses to open-ended questions reliably and score according to the provided scoring guide.
- Successfully internalize training materials and the customer scoring guide.
- Pass a qualifying test before beginning scoring.
- Apply the scoring guide without personal bias, adhering strictly to customer requirements.

Qualifications

We're looking for qualified candidates to join our scoring team. Please ensure you meet the following requirements:

- Educational Requirement: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy is required.
- Assessment: Successful completion of the Versant qualification test.
- Confidentiality: Ability to maintain a secure and confidential work setting.

Training and Work Environment Requirements





- You must attend mandatory training remotely.
- Training and scoring will be available every day from 5:00 AM to 11:59 PM Central Time (or 3:30 PM to 10:29 AM IST).
- The scoring window may change based on project needs.
- The maximum you can work is 12 hours per day, with a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any hours over 40 must be pre-approved by your supervisor.
- Personal Computer and Internet: Candidates must have access to a personal computer that meets the scoring system's specifications, as well as reliable internet service.
- Note: Use of shared office computers, institutional, or public computer labs is not permitted.
- System Recommendations:
- Windows Users: The operating system must be Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, or 10.
- Mac Users: The operating system must be OS X Snow Leopard (10.6), Lion (10.7), Mountain Lion (10.8), Mavericks (10.9), or Yosemite (10.10).
- Preparation Tip: We recommend verifying your system is relatively up to date for compatibility.
- Internet Requirements: A stable high-speed internet connection with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps is required for optimal performance.
