We are looking for an experienced BigID Developer / Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in implementing, developing, and administering data discovery, classification, privacy, governance, and retention solutions using the BigID platform .

The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of enterprise data landscapes, sensitive data identification, metadata management, privacy compliance, and data retention. You will play a key role in helping organizations identify and manage sensitive data, reduce privacy risks, and strengthen data governance across structured and unstructured environments.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

- Implement, configure, develop, and administer BigID solutions for enterprise data discovery and governance.
- Configure and manage data discovery and scanning across relational databases, file systems, cloud data sources, and unstructured repositories .
- Develop data classification policies to identify and categorize sensitive information.
- Configure metadata discovery, management, and enrichment processes.
- Identify and classify sensitive data including PII, PCI, PHI, financial, and regulatory data .
- Implement data privacy and governance processes aligned with organizational requirements.
- Design and support data retention, archival, and deletion policies .
- Configure remediation workflows for sensitive and non-compliant data.
- Support privacy risk identification, assessment, and remediation activities.
- Integrate BigID with enterprise applications, data platforms, and other governance or security tools using REST APIs and other integration mechanisms.
- Configure workflows, policies, connectors, and automation within the BigID platform.
- Work with data and security teams to address data quality, classification, governance, and compliance requirements.




- Support compliance initiatives aligned with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA , and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Develop scripts and automation using Python or Shell to improve operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot scanning, classification, integration, and workflow-related issues.
- Maintain technical documentation, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve data governance, privacy, and retention capabilities.

What Makes You a Great Fit

- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data privacy, data security, data management, or a related technical domain.
- Strong hands-on experience with BigID implementation, development, configuration, or administration .
- Deep understanding of data discovery, data classification, metadata management, data privacy, data governance, and data retention .
- Experience scanning and managing data across relational databases, file systems, cloud data sources, and unstructured repositories .
- Strong understanding of sensitive data categories including PII, PCI, PHI, financial, and regulatory data .
- Practical experience implementing data retention and lifecycle management requirements.
- Familiarity with privacy and compliance frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA .
- Experience with REST APIs, enterprise integrations, workflow configuration, and automation .
- Good knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
- Scripting experience using Python, Shell, or similar languages .
- Familiarity with data governance and privacy management tools.
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP .
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with data, security, privacy, compliance, and technology teams .
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical and regulatory requirements into practical solutions.
