About the role

SafeTree is looking for a dedicated UI/UX Designer to own design across our digital platforms — web applications, internal tools and the company website.

This is a dedicated design role. You will not be writing production code; we have an engineering team for that. You will be the design owner, responsible for the research, the thinking and the craft behind every interface we ship.

Key responsibilitiesDesign

● Create user flows, information architecture, site maps, wireframes, storyboards, interactive prototypes and high-fidelity UI designs.

● Design modern, responsive interfaces in Figma across desktop and mobile.

● Design data-dense screens — dashboards, reports, comparison views and admin panels — with clear information hierarchy and prioritisation.

● Apply design thinking and user-centred design principles, and justify design decisions in terms of the user’s task.

Research and validation

● Conduct user research: interviews, contextual enquiry and feedback sessions with real users and internal teams.

● Run usability testing on prototypes and shipped interfaces, and translate findings into concrete design changes.

● Use qualitative and quantitative inputs to validate or challenge design decisions.

Design systems and consistency

● Build and maintain a design system and reusable component library.

● Ensure brand consistency across product, website and marketing collateral.

● Define component states, edge cases and responsive behaviour.

Collaboration and handoff

● Work with business stakeholders, engineering and marketing to translate requirements into design solutions.

● Deliver developer-ready handoffs:



organised Figma files, clear specifications, defined states and documented behaviour.

● Review built output against designs and work with engineering to close gaps.

● Present and defend work to non-design stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Required skills

● 3–5 years of professional experience in UI/UX or product design, with shipped commercial work.

● Expert-level Figma (mandatory) — components, variants, auto-layout, interactive prototyping and clean file organisation.

● Strong command of UI/UX fundamentals: visual hierarchy, typography, layout, spacing, colour and interaction design.

● Demonstrable experience designing data-dense interfaces such as dashboards, reports or admin panels.

● Hands-on experience with user research and usability testing, and evidence of having changed a design based on what users said.

● Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first design.

● Experience creating wireframes, user flows, site maps and prototypes.

● Working knowledge of design systems and reusable component thinking.

● Sufficient technical literacy to hand off effectively — understanding of responsive behaviour, component structure and implementation feasibility.





● Ability to work independently as the sole designer: self-directed, well-organised and able to prioritise.

● Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

● A portfolio is mandatory. Applications without a portfolio link will not be reviewed.

Good to have

● Exposure to insurance, fintech, healthcare or B2B SaaS.

● Prior contribution to a design system or component library.

● Some hands-on experience in front-end development — HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, or a framework such as React.js. Not a requirement of the role, but useful for prototyping and for smoother handoff to engineering.

● Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG basics).

● Experience designing for Tier-2/Tier-3 Indian users, regional languages or low-bandwidth conditions.

● Working knowledge of analytics or heat-mapping tools.
