- CA / CPA / CMA / MBA (Finance) or B.Com with equivalent depth; 4–7 years in accounting, of which at least 2–3 years must be in a not-for-profit setting. Not-for-profit experience is essential; it may have been gained with Indian or US organizations.
- Working command of of U.S. GAAP for Not-for-Profit entities (ASC 958), including donor-restricted and without-donor-restriction net assets, contribution and grant accounting (ASU 2018-08), contributed nonfinancial assets (ASU 2020-07), ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Experience with grant cost allocation methodologies and time-and-effort / payroll certification requirements.
- Fund accounting proficiency in at least one platform — Sage Intacct, Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, MIP Fund Accounting, NetSuite or Workday; advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, large-file reconciliation).
- Clear written and spoken English, comfortable holding independent conversations with US-based client stakeholders.
- Willingness to work the 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST shift on a sustained basis, with flexibility during month-end, funder deadlines and audit season.
