Job Description: Technical Lead – Backend (Python / FastAPI / Azure)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead - Backend with strong expertise in Python, FastAPI, and Microsoft Azure to lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will drive technical excellence, mentor engineering teams, define backend architecture, and deliver high-performance enterprise solutions using modern development practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead backend architecture, design, and development using Python and FastAPI.
- Design and develop scalable, secure, and highly available RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Architect and implement cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Drive technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture governance.
- Mentor and guide development teams on best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation for build, deployment, and monitoring.
- Ensure application security, performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide technical leadership.
- Define and enforce software engineering best practices and design patterns.

Mandatory Skills





- 10+ years of software development experience.
- Strong expertise in Python and FastAPI.
- Experience building REST APIs and Microservices Architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services.
- Strong knowledge of Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Storage, Azure SQL, Azure Key Vault.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
- Expertise in CI/CD using Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions.
- Strong understanding of API security, OAuth2, JWT, and authentication mechanisms.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, or similar databases.
- Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Valuable to Have

- Event-driven architecture and messaging services.
- Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, or Kafka.
- Exposure to GenAI, Azure OpenAI, or AI-powered integrations.
- Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
