Requirement: Early Childhood Development & Communication Educator

We are looking for an experienced Early Childhood Developmental Educator / Special Educator / Developmental Learning Therapist to work with a nursery-going child and support his overall development, communication, attention, learning readiness, and ability to follow instructions.

Child's Current Profile

- Currently studying in Nursery.
- Uses approximately 100–150 words.
- Sometimes repeats words or phrases spoken by others.
- We would like to strengthen his ability to use language meaningfully and independently.
- Requires support in following instructions and staying engaged in structured activities.
- We want to build his attention, focus, imitation, communication and independent participation through age-appropriate activities.

Key Responsibilities

The educator will be expected to work with the child through structured, play-based and interactive activities, focusing on:

1. Following Instructions

- Start with simple one-step instructions.
- Gradually introduce two-step instructions.
- Teach the child to listen, understand and complete instructions independently.
- Use visual cues, gestures and demonstrations where required.

2. Attention & Focus

- Conduct activities designed to gradually increase attention span.
- Encourage the child to sit, listen, participate and complete an activity.
- Reduce distraction and gradually increase task duration.
- Use engaging games rather than excessive worksheets.

3. Communication & Language

- Encourage spontaneous and meaningful communication.
- Help the child use words to request, answer, describe and communicate needs.
- Work on reducing reliance on simply repeating what others say.
- Encourage functional two-way communication.
- Develop vocabulary through stories,



picture cards, games and everyday activities.

4. Fine Motor Skills
Activities may include:

- Puzzles
- Blocks
- Threading/beading
- Peg activities
- Drawing and colouring
- Clay/play dough
- Cutting and pasting
- Hand-eye coordination activities

5. Gross Motor Skills
Activities may include:

- Jumping
- Throwing and catching
- Balancing
- Obstacle courses
- Ball activities
- Following movement instructions
- Coordination and body-awareness activities

6. Cognitive & Problem-Solving Skills

- Matching and sorting
- Shapes and colours
- Sequencing
- Memory games
- Simple puzzles
- Classification activities
- Pattern recognition
- Cause-and-effect activities

7. Imitation & Social Skills

- Imitating actions and movements.
- Copying simple gestures.
- Turn-taking.
- Interactive games.
- Joint play with the educator.
- Encouraging eye contact naturally during interaction.
- Following group/play routines.

8. Independence & School Readiness
The educator should gradually help the child:

- Follow classroom-type routines.
- Complete activities independently.
- Transition from one activity to another.
- Wait for his turn.
- Pack/organize materials.
- Participate in age-appropriate nursery activities.
- Become more comfortable with structured learning.

Teaching Approach

We are specifically looking for someone who follows a play-based, child-friendly and developmental approach.





The educator should:

- Keep activities engaging and age appropriate.
- Avoid forcing the child to sit for long periods.
- Use the child's interests to encourage participation.
- Gradually increase the level of difficulty.
- Give clear and easy instructions.
- Use positive reinforcement.
- Track progress regularly.

Ideal Candidate

The candidate should preferably have:

- Qualification in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Developmental Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience working with children in the 2–5 year age group.
- Practical experience in developing attention, communication, imitation and following instructions.
- Experience with play-based developmental activities.
- Good understanding of early childhood communication and learning.
- Patience, warmth and the ability to build a strong rapport with the child.
- Ability to create a structured weekly activity plan and track progress.

Expected Outcome

The objective is to help the child progressively improve in:

Communication → Understanding → Following Instructions → Attention → Imitation → Motor Skills → Problem Solving → Independent Participation → School Readiness

We are looking for a teacher/educator who can work consistently with the child and help him become more engaged, independent and confident in everyday learning and classroom activities.

Location: Mumbai
Frequency: To be mutually discussed based on the educator's recommendation and the child's requirements.

Interested candidates may share their qualification, experience with children of this age group, location, availability, and expected fees.

Pay: ₹2,000.00 - ₹3,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
