What Youll Be Doing (position summary):

The QE Consultant is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test cases and plans for the ETL stream within Wealth CRM on Azure Hub. The role ensures data quality for Databricks-based pipelines, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and other Azure cloud data solutions. The incumbent collaborates with developers, system analysts, QA testers, and business partners to clarify requirements, track milestones, and deliver robust, accurate, and compliant data assets.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Develop and maintain detailed test cases and test plans for ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Oversee the execution of manual and automated tests, ensuring coverage of all business and technical requirements.
- Utilize hands-on experience with Azure cloud environments, Databricks-based data pipelines, and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
- Write complex SQL queries to validate data transformations, reconciliations, and business logic.
- Ensure thorough end-to-end data warehousing testing, including ETL type-1 and type-2 scenarios.
- Work with developers, system analysts, and business partners to clarify requirements and manage project milestones.
- Communicate test results, quality metrics, and risk assessments effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

- Collaborates with developers and system analysts to clarify requirements and resolve issues identified during testing.
- Works with business partners to ensure business needs and quality standards are met.




- Coordinates with other QA testers to ensure comprehensive coverage and alignment of test activities.
- Communicates regularly with project managers and stakeholders to provide updates on testing progress and outcomes.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

- Supports data quality for multiple Wealth Management projects and releases within Azure Hub.
- Directly responsible for the accuracy and completeness of test cases and plans for ETL and data pipeline initiatives.
- Provides QA services impacting the delivery of data assets used across the Wealth CRM portfolio.
- Advises on best practices for QA and data testing within the team.

Experience: 7+ years of experience

Must Have Skills:

- 7+ years of hands-on experience in QA roles, with a focus on ETL/data testing, data warehousing, and automation.
- Proven expertise in Azure cloud environments, Databricks-based data pipelines, and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries for data validation and business logic testing.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end data warehousing testing and ETL type-1 and type-2 scenarios.
- Experience in test planning, test case development, and team coordination.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Client-focused, collaborative, and values-driven, embodying CIBCs values of trust, teamwork, and accountability.

Good to Have:

- Experience in a matrix environment, preferably within a financial institution.
