- Collect vibration data using portable analyzers, sensors, and online monitoring systems.
- Perform routine condition monitoring of rotating equipment (motors, pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, fans).
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in data acquisition.
2. Analysis & Diagnosis
- Interpret vibration spectra, waveforms, and trends to identify mechanical issues such as:
- Misalignment
- Imbalance
- Bearing defects
- Gear wear
- Resonance or looseness
3. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare detailed diagnostic reports with findings, root cause analysis, and recommendations.
- Maintain historical records of vibration data for trend analysis and predictive maintenance.
4. Maintenance Support
- Recommend corrective actions (alignment, balancing, bearing replacement, lubrication).
- Support maintenance teams during shutdowns and overhauls.
- Verify effectiveness of repairs through post-maintenance vibration checks.
5. Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and predictive maintenance programs.
- Suggest improvements in equipment design or operating practices to reduce vibration issues.
- Collaborate with reliability engineers and plant managers to enhance asset performance.
6. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure vibration monitoring practices comply with industry standards (ISO, API).
- Promote safe working practices while handling monitoring equipment and during inspections.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of vibration theory, rotating machinery, and condition monitoring techniques.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools (infrared thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis).
- Good communication skills for reporting and cross-functional collaboration.
