Role & responsibilities
Prepare detailed product costing and should-cost models.
Analyze supplier quotations and prepare cost breakdowns for material, labour, process, overheads, tooling, logistics and margins.
Lead supplier negotiations and validate price increase/decrease requests.
Identify and implement cost-saving / VA-VE initiatives.
Drive cost reduction through material optimization, alternate sourcing, process improvement and supplier development.
Benchmark supplier prices and raw-material costs against market conditions.
Support recent product costing, design changes and target-costing activities.
Maintain cost-saving trackers and report savings to management.
Work closely with Engineering, Purchase, Production, Quality and Finance teams.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of manufacturing costing and cost structures.
Expertise in cost breakdown / should-cost analysis.
Robust negotiation and procurement skills.
Valuable understanding of manufacturing processes and raw materials.
Strong analytical and Excel skills.
Experience in VA/VE and cost reduction.
Ability to challenge supplier pricing with data and develop competitive cost models.
