Reporting To: Principal
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct age-appropriate activities for Nursery, LKG, and UKG children .
- Develop children's foundational skills in language, numeracy, general awareness, motor skills, and creative expression.
- Use play-based and activity-based teaching methods to make learning engaging and enjoyable.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, teaching-learning materials (TLMs), and classroom activities.
- Conduct activities such as storytelling, rhymes, drawing, colouring, music, dance, role play, puzzles, and educational games.
- Create an inclusive and positive classroom workplace where every child feels safe, respected, and encouraged to participate.
- Observe children's behaviour, learning progress, and developmental needs and provide appropriate support.
- Maintain regular records of students attendance, development, assessments, and classroom participation.
- Provide additional support to children who may require more attention or individualized learning.
- Promote good habits related to personal hygiene, cleanliness, nutrition, safety, and social behaviour.
- Ensure the safety and security of children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and other school activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding children's progress, behaviour, and developmental needs.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, project staff, and the school/centre management.
- Participate in school events, celebrations, workshops,
teacher-training programmes, parent meetings, and community activities.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children and their families and follow all child safeguarding and organizational policies.
- Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Centre Head, Principal, or Project Coordinator.
Educational Qualifications
- Diploma/Certificate in Nursery Teacher Training (NTT), Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), Montessori Teacher Training, or equivalent qualification.
- Graduation in any discipline will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with a B.Ed./D.El.Ed. or relevant early childhood education qualification may also be considered.
Experience
- 1-2 years of experience working with young children in a preschool, school, NGO, Anganwadi, or community-based education programme is preferred.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications and a genuine interest in working with children may also be considered.
Skills
- Creativity in designing classroom activities and teaching-learning materials.
- Ability to understand and respond to children's individual learning needs.
- Basic computer skills will be an advantage.
- Positive communication and engagement with parents/guardians.
