STAFF NURSE – AICU / HDU / PICU / CCU / CTRR / GYNAE WARD

JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for compassionate, skilled and responsible Staff Nurses to provide safe, effective and patient-centered nursing care in AICU, HDU, PICU, CCU, CTRR and Gynae Ward. The candidate will be responsible for patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring, documentation, coordination with doctors and maintaining quality and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive nursing care as per patient condition and treatment plan.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, pain score and other clinical parameters.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, injections and blood/blood products as prescribed.
- Maintain accurate nursing records, patient charts and electronic documentation.
- Identify and promptly report any deterioration or abnormal clinical findings to the treating doctor.
- Assist doctors during procedures, emergencies and resuscitation.
- Operate and monitor relevant medical equipment as per competency and hospital protocols.
- Follow infection prevention and control practices, hand hygiene and biomedical waste management.
- Ensure safe medication practices, patient identification and fall-prevention measures.
- Maintain emergency readiness and participate in Code Blue/BLS/ACLS activities as applicable.
- Ensure proper handover and takeover of patients during shift changes.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect patient rights, dignity and privacy.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, nursing team, laboratory, radiology and other departments.
- Maintain cleanliness, availability and proper functioning of nursing equipment and emergency trolley.
- Follow hospital policies, SOPs, NABH standards and statutory requirements.
- Participate in nursing training, competency assessments, audits and quality improvement activities.
DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
AICU / HDU / CCU
- Continuous monitoring of critically ill patients.
- Manage patients on cardiac/respiratory monitoring and other critical-care equipment as per competency.
- Assist in emergency procedures, resuscitation and stabilization.
- Monitor infusion pumps, oxygen therapy and other prescribed interventions.
PICU
- Provide age-appropriate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients.
- Closely monitor vital parameters and report changes promptly.
- Assist in pediatric emergency and resuscitation procedures.
- Follow pediatric medication safety and infection-control practices.
CTRR
- Provide pre- and post-procedure nursing care.
- Prepare patients for procedures and ensure required investigations/documentation are complete.
- Monitor patients during recovery and identify complications promptly.
- Assist the medical team during procedures as required.
GYNAE WARD
- Provide nursing care to gynecological and post-operative patients.
- Monitor patients before and after gynecological procedures/surgeries.
- Assist in patient preparation,
medication administration and post-operative monitoring.
- Provide appropriate patient education and discharge instructions.
QUALIFICATION
- B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the State Nursing Council / applicable regulatory authority.
- Current nursing registration and required professional credentials.
EXPERIENCE
- Freshers may apply.
- Experience in ICU/HDU/PICU/CCU/CTRR/Gynae or critical care will be preferred.
- Candidates with relevant critical-care experience will be given preference for ICU/HDU/PICU/CCU positions.

- Strong clinical and patient-care skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts.
- Knowledge of emergency response, BLS and infection prevention practices.
