Retail Store Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Retail Store Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of the store, ensure excellent customer service, control inventory, achieve sales targets, and lead the store team effectively.

The Store Manager will be responsible for maintaining smooth store operations, minimizing stock losses and wastage, ensuring proper billing and cash handling, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and product presentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Store Operations

- Manage the complete day-to-day operations of the retail store.
- Ensure the store opens and closes on time.
- Maintain proper product display, pricing, labeling, and shelf availability.
- Ensure store cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with management for operational requirements.

2. Sales & Customer Service

- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
- Monitor customer requirements and ensure excellent service.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales through upselling and cross-selling.
- Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving products.

3. Inventory Management

- Monitor daily stock levels and product availability.
- Coordinate stock receiving, storage, transfers, and dispatches.
- Ensure proper GRN and stock-entry procedures are followed.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification.
- Identify stock shortages, excess stock, damages, and expiry risks.




- Minimize product wastage and inventory losses.

4. Billing & Cash Management

- Monitor billing operations and ensure accurate billing.
- Ensure proper cash collection and daily cash reconciliation.
- Monitor UPI/card/cash transactions.
- Ensure all sales are properly recorded in the billing system.
- Report discrepancies immediately to management.

5. Team Management

- Supervise sales staff, counter staff, billing staff, and store assistants.
- Allocate daily duties and shifts.
- Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, grooming, and performance.
- Train employees on customer service, product knowledge, billing, and store procedures.
- Motivate the team to achieve sales and operational targets.

6. Procurement & Vendor Coordination

- Coordinate with the purchase/procurement team regarding stock requirements.
- Communicate urgent product requirements and shortages.
- Coordinate with suppliers during deliveries and resolve quantity/quality discrepancies.
- Ensure received products are properly checked before acceptance.

7. Reporting

- Prepare daily sales and operational reports.
- Monitor sales, stock, wastage, and other key store KPIs.
- Report operational issues, customer complaints, stock discrepancies,



and maintenance requirements to management.
- Maintain proper records and documentation.

Qualification & Experience

- Any Bachelor's degree / Diploma preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in retail, supermarket, FMCG, food, bakery, or similar store operations.
- Experience with POS/billing and inventory systems such as Petpooja will be an advantage.

Working Requirements

- Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays when required.
- Ability to stand and actively supervise store operations for extended periods.
- Strong ownership and accountability for store performance.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
