PrivaSapien is Looking for:
Senior Technical Business Analyst — Data Privacy Platform Delivery
PrivaSapien Technologies
- Full-time
- Gurugram / Noida / Bengaluru / Mumbai (on-site)
About The Role
PrivaSapien builds PrivaGalaxy, the privacy engineering platform that large Indian enterprises - banks, automotive manufacturers, media houses, PSUs and consumer businesses - deploy to operationalise the DPDP Act, 2023. We are hiring Senior Technical Business Analyst to own the path from legal obligation and complex enterprise reality to an unambiguous, testable, signed-off specification that delivery is built, tracked and evidenced against. This is a technical BA role, not a generalist one: you carry the technical interface on your accounts, working directly with customer architects, middleware teams and SI partner engineers. While prior DPDP experience is not mandatory (though preferred ) - regulatory reasoning is expected.
What You'll Do
- Run discovery and requirement definition with DPO, Legal, CISO, IT and business owners at enterprise customers, translating regulatory and business obligations into concrete platform configuration and system requirements.
- Own the written record of technical design discussions — produce the sequence diagram and the integration contract (endpoints, payload semantics, authentication, synchronous/asynchronous behaviour, error and retry handling, idempotency, volumetrics) and get it confirmed by the technical owners on both sides.
- Surface the design decisions that go unstated — establish where business rules are evaluated versus enforced and how changes propagate downstream; record anything agreed in principle but technically undefined as an open decision with a named owner, never as settled.
- Author specifications that need no follow-up — BRD, FRD/FSD, SRS, user stories and acceptance criteria written in observable, binary terms that our Integration Engineers can build test cases from without coming back to you.
- Design the validation — business and negative test scenarios including failure paths, entry and exit criteria for SIT and UAT, and test data requirements (masked, synthetic, production-derived) with what is permissible in non-production environments.
- Own UAT and its evidence — orchestrate business sign-off and assemble evidence packs that stand up to audit and to a customer disputing, months later, what was accepted.
- Keep the traceability chain live — requirement to build item to test case to executed evidence, maintained continuously so coverage gaps are visible before sign-off,
not after.
- Run the engagement record — Minutes of Meeting circulated within one business day; decision, action, dependency and risk registers maintained so nothing agreed is lost and nothing open is unowned; a weekly status pack written to a standard fit for onward submission to the customer's leadership. Prepare enterprise level presentation decks, reports and trackers as and when required.
- Hold the scope baseline — out-of-scope requests raised as formal change requests with impact assessment before they enter build, not absorbed as goodwill.
- Deputise for the Delivery Manager during planned absence within a defined boundary — chair the cadence, hold the plan, drive actions to closure; scope, timeline, cost and contractual commitments are recorded and escalated, never settled by you. Feed recurring customer demand back to product as evidenced backlog input.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years as a Business Analyst, with at least 3 years specifying enterprise software for large organisations; MTech/BTech in Computer Science, IT or an equivalent engineering discipline, or BCA/MCA.
- A minimum of 2 years in a hands-on technical role where you built, integrated or debugged systems directly — software development, integration or middleware engineering, SIT/test automation, or L3 support on an API-based product. Requirements experience alone is not sufficient.
- API fluency — you can read and critique an API specification (OpenAPI/Swagger) and name what it does not say. Assessed live in interview: you will be given a specification and asked what is missing before it could be built.
- Integration depth — authentication flows (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, SSO via SAML/OIDC); synchronous versus event-driven integration and the consistency implications of each; error handling, retries, idempotency, timeouts and volumetric sizing.
- Hands-on validation instincts — SQL at query level for data validation and reconciliation; reading application and integration logs to isolate a functional issue; working understanding of how AWS and on-premise deployments differ in ways that shape requirements (data residency, account ownership, network paths, access approval lead times).
- Regulatory reasoning — the ability to read an unfamiliar rule, apply it to a business process, and derive concrete system requirements, separating what the rule mandates from what the business would prefer. Assessed live. Experience on programmes shaped by external regulation or audit (RBI, IRDAI, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOX or similar).
- Demonstrated artefact quality — you will be asked to share a BRD/FRD or equivalent specification you authored (redacted as needed). This is a hard requirement of the process.
- Modelling craft, live — process flows (BPMN or equivalent swimlanes), sequence and data flow diagrams drawn in the room and corrected by the customer's architect there and then; comfort reading a schema.
- Governance discipline and stakeholder command — running a delivery cadence, minutes to a next-day standard, registers maintained so nothing open is unowned; able to hold a room with a DPO, CISO and Head of IT and leave with decisions.
- Judgement under pressure — when the room wants a commitment you are not authorised to make, you record and escalate rather than satisfy the room. Willingness for ad hoc and frequent domestic travel.
Bonus Points
- Privacy certification (DCPP, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT) or prior exposure to DPDP, GDPR or another data protection regime.
- Software development experience beyond the two-year hands-on floor.
- Domain depth in BFSI, automotive, media and publishing, e-commerce or other large B2C organisations.
- Experience delivering through system integrator partners.
- Exposure to cyber security, consent management or privacy operations products; English and Hindi plus another Indian language.
Why This Role
India's DPDP practice is being defined right now, and almost nobody in the market can claim years of experience in it — which means the professionals who build that experience over the next two years will define the field. You would be doing that from the best seat available: the technical Business Analyst at a privacy engineering company, shaping the BA function itself rather than inheriting one, working at the intersection of law and system design across banks, automotive OEMs and media houses, with direct exposure to CXO stakeholders and to how a regulation becomes running software. We would invest in you to train you on the domain. The ability of regulatory reasoning and the technical spine is what you bring.
