Embryologist – IVF Laboratory
Job Description
Perform routine IVF laboratory procedures, including oocyte and sperm handling, fertilization, embryo culture, assessment, and cryopreservation.
Perform/assist in IVF and ICSI procedures as per competency and established SOPs.
Conduct sperm preparation, oocyte denudation, embryo grading, and blastocyst culture.
Perform vitrification, warming/thawing, and cryostorage of embryos, oocytes, and sperm.
Maintain accurate laboratory records, sample identification, traceability, and cryostorage inventory.
Monitor incubators, cryopreservation systems, laboratory equipment, and environmental parameters.
Ensure strict compliance with SOPs, quality-control, biosafety, infection-control, and applicable ART regulations.
Coordinate with fertility specialists, nurses, and other IVF team members.
Participate in laboratory quality improvement, research, training, and academic activities.
Qualification
M.Sc. in Clinical Embryology, Reproductive Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or equivalent.
Specialized training/certification in Clinical Embryology will be preferred.
Experience of more than 100 individually performed ICSI cycles or more than 7 years of experience in IVF.
Experience
For Jr. Embryologist: 1–3 years of relevant experience in an IVF laboratory with a Master's in clinical Embryology or a fellowship equivalent of two years.
For Sr. Embryologist: Experience of more than 100 individually performed ICSI cycles or more than 7 years of experience in IVF.
Key Skills
Robust technical knowledge of IVF/ART laboratory procedures.
Proficiency in oocyte and embryo handling.
Attention to detail and excellent sample traceability practices.
Knowledge of laboratory quality control and biosafety.
Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
