Role Overview
The Executive - Rail Logistics Operations will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating rail-based cargo movements, ensuring seamless operations, compliance, and timely dispatches. The role is based in Mundra and requires periodic travel to Kandla to manage and monitor operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor daily rail logistics operations including rake planning, placement, and dispatch.
- Liaise with Indian Railways officials, port authorities, transporters, CHA, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure timely documentation, billing, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Track rake movement and resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Manage yard operations including loading/unloading supervision.
- Prepare daily MIS reports and maintain operational records.
- Coordinate with warehouse and transport teams for smooth cargo flow.
- Monitor turnaround time (TAT) and optimize cost-efficiency in rail movements.
- Address operational escalations and ensure mínimal detention/demurrage charges.
Travel & Allowances
- The position is primarily based in Mundra.
- Travel to Kandla will be required as per operational needs.
- Petrol allowance will be provided for official travel as per company policy.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in rail logistics/port operations preferred.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Knowledge of rail freight operations and documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools.
