Role & responsibilities -

1. Product Design and Development

- Propose, design and develop architectural hardware solutions including hinges, locks, handles, sliding mechanisms & other hardware mechanisms tailored for window and door systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into technical specifications.
- Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, and testing to validate design concepts.
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using design software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Ensure that designs meet structural integrity, aesthetic appeal, and ease-of-manufacture requirements.

2. Technical Expertise and Innovation:

- Analyse and optimize designs for strength, durability, corrosion resistance, and thermal performance.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in architectural hardware and aluminium systems.
- Recommend cutting-edge solutions to enhance product functionality and user experience.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, including EN, ISO, and other applicable certifications.

3. Project Management:

- Plan and manage multiple design projects, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source components and ensure manufacturability.
- Prepare detailed design reports, including material selection, cost analysis, and risk assessments.

4. Testing and Quality Assurance:

- Define testing protocols and oversee performance testing of hardware components for load-bearing, durability, and operational efficiency.




- Evaluate prototypes through physical testing and simulations to ensure performance under real-world conditions.
- Implement design changes based on testing results, feedback, and customer input.

5. Collaboration and Support

- Work closely with sales, marketing, and customer service teams to address client needs and provide technical support.
- Assist in creating technical documentation, including product manuals, installation guides, and training materials.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Education:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Machine Design or a related field.

2. Experience:

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in product designing & development activity (Related Industries: Architectural hardware, Automotive, Machine tools, SPM, White Goods)
- Proven track record of taking products from concept to production.

3. Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Knowledge of materials, especially metals, coatings, and finishes suitable for architectural hardware.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, sheet metal, extrusion, and injection molding.
- Familiarity with testing methods for load, durability, and corrosion resistance.

4. Soft Skills:

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality designs.

5. Certifications (Preferred):

- Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or equivalent CAD certification.
- Training in FMEA, Six Sigma, or other quality management methodologies.
