SAP MM Consultant

About the Role
We are looking for an SAP MM Consultant with hands-on experience across SAP MM implementation and production support. The role requires strong functional knowledge of procurement and inventory processes, along with practical experience in integration with FI and SD, master data migration, cutover activities, testing, and post-go-live support.
Project Experience Mandatory

- Minimum 1 full-cycle SAP MM implementation project experience, including requirement gathering, configuration, testing, data migration, cutover, go-live, and hypercare/support.
- Minimum 1 SAP MM support project experience, handling incidents, root-cause analysis, business-user support, enhancements, and issue resolution within agreed timelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure and support SAP MM processes covering Procure-to-Pay (P2P), purchasing, inventory management, invoice verification, and material valuation with SAP S/4HANA
- Handle PR, RFQ, PO, contracts, scheduling agreements, release strategies, goods receipt, goods issue, invoice verification, returns, subcontracting, consignment.
- Configure and maintain material master, supplier/vendor master, purchasing data, and relevant organisational structures.
- Work closely with FI and SD teams to ensure correct integration across procurement, inventory, accounting, sales, billing, and material-related processes.
- Coordinate with ABAP and technical teams for enhancements, BAPIs, BADIs, user exits, forms, and interface requirements; prepare transparent functional specifications.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, UAT support, defect analysis, and resolution across implementation and support engagements.
- Participate in master data upload activities, including data preparation, validation, mapping, upload execution, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
- Participate in cutover planning and execution, including open transaction validation, master data readiness, sequence tracking, data reconciliation, and go-live readiness checks.




- Provide post-go-live and production support, troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate permanent fixes.
- Prepare functional documentation, test scripts, process documents, and user training materials as required.
- Contribute to process improvements and recommend SAP best practices based on business requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience as an SAP MM Functional Consultant.
- Hands-on experience in at least one SAP MM implementation project and one SAP MM production support project.
- Strong understanding of P2P and Inventory Management processes with practical SAP MM configuration experience.
- Good knowledge of Material Master, Supplier/Vendor Master, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Invoice Verification, and Valuation.
- Experience in PR/PO, release strategy, subcontracting, consignment, stock transfer, returns, physical inventory, and invoice verification.
- Hands-on or strong working knowledge of SAP MM integration with FI and SD; exposure to PP is an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of BAPI, BADI, User Exits, IDoc/ALE and coordination with ABAP teams.
- Practical experience in master data migration/upload and cutover activities in implementation projects.
- Good understanding of SAP testing cycles, defect management, deployment, go-live, and hypercare.
- Good communication, analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Good to Have

- Knowledge of SAP migration tools or data upload approaches used in MM.
- Exposure to EDI/interfaces and cross-functional integration scenarios.
- Experience working directly with business users and conducting end-user training.

Education
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Ideal Candidate
A hands-on SAP MM professional who has worked across both implementation and support environments and can independently manage functional requirements, configuration, testing, master data activities, cutover tasks, and production issues while coordinating effectively with FI, SD, ABAP, and business teams.
