Job Summary
We are looking for an Advanced Linux C++ / BMC engineer with strong low-level programming and platform-management expertise. This role combines advanced C or C++ development with embedded Linux, BMC architecture, server-management standards, hardware interfaces, and system-level debugging.
You will develop and integrate BMC software for ARM-based SoCs and x86/ARM server platforms, working across software, firmware, and hardware boundaries. The role requires strong ownership, technical depth, and the ability to diagnose complex platform issues.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded BMC firmware using advanced C and C++ programming
- Integrate and debug low-level interfaces including I2C/SMBus, USB, PCIe, GPIO, SPI, UART, eSPI, and JTAG
- Develop solutions using IPMI, D-Bus, and DMTF standards including Redfish, PLDM, MCTP, and SPDM
- Work with Open Compute Project specifications applicable to BMC and server-management platforms
- Enable and support ARM-based BMC SoCs and x86/ARM server architectures
- Develop Linux applications using system calls, IPC, socket programming, and POSIX multithreading
- Implement and integrate system services using systemd and D-Bus
- Build and maintain embedded Linux software using Yocto/BitBake and Makefiles
- Collaborate with hardware, validation, and platform teams to resolve system-level issues
- Document designs, interfaces, debugging findings, and technical solutions
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor of Engineering in ECE, CSE, EEE, IT, or Master of Computer Applications
- Strong hands-on experience in advanced C or C++ programming
- Experience with embedded systems development
- Knowledge of low-level interfaces including I2C/SMBus, USB, PCIe, GPIO, SPI, UART, eSPI, and JTAG
- Familiarity with IPMI, D-Bus, DMTF standards such as Redfish, PLDM, MCTP, and SPDM, and Open Compute Project specifications
- Experience with ARM-based BMC SoCs such as ASPEED AST2600 or Nuvoton Arbel, and x86/ARM server architectures
- Solid knowledge of Linux internals, including system calls, IPC, socket programming, and POSIX multithreading
- Hands-on experience with systemd, D-Bus, Yocto/BitBake, and Makefiles
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OpenBMC development and architecture
- Python or Bash scripting experience
- Experience with embedded Linux startup, bootloaders such as U-Boot, device tree, drivers, and BSP bring-up on BMC SoCs
- Hands-on experience with GDB and platform debugging tools
- Experience using Git for version control and Jira for issue tracking
