The Product Application Expert (PAE) for Relays serves as the technical authority for Protection Relays and Substation Automation solutions. The role is responsible for providing application engineering support, solution design, technical consulting, customer engagement, product positioning, and project support to drive business growth and ensure successful deployment of protection solutions across utility, industrial, infrastructure, commercial buildings, and data center segments.

Key Responsibilities Product & Application Expertise

- Act as the subject matter expert for Protection Relays and Protection Automation solutions.
- Provide technical guidance on relay selection, application engineering, and protection philosophies.
- Support customers and internal stakeholders in choosing the optimal protection architecture based on system requirements.
- Review customer specifications and recommend compliant solutions.

Customer & Pre-Sales Support
- Work closely with Sales, Tendering, and Business Development teams to develop technical solutions.
- Conduct customer meetings, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and workshops.
- Support bid preparation, technical proposals, and solution reviews.
- Address customer technical queries and provide application recommendations.

Solution Design & Engineering
- Develop protection concepts for feeders, transformers, generators, motors, capacitor banks, and busbar applications.
- Review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), protection schematics, and network architectures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IEC, IEEE, IS, and utility standards.




- Support protection coordination studies and relay setting philosophy.

Product Management & Business Support
- Provide market feedback on customer requirements and emerging industry trends.
- Support recent product introduction, product launches, and competitive benchmarking.
- Identify opportunities to enhance product adoption and market penetration.
- Collaborate with global and regional teams on product enhancements and localization requirements.

Digital Substation & Communication Systems
- Support applications involving:
- IEC 61850
- Modbus RTU/TCP
- DNP3
- SCADA Integration
- Substation Automation Systems (SAS)

- Assist customers in implementing digital substations and smart grid solutions.

Project & Lifecycle Support
- Support project teams during engineering, commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault investigations when required.
- Assist service teams in resolving complex relay application issues.
- Ensure successful technical implementation of protection solutions.

Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Specialization in Power Systems preferred.

Experience
- 8 to 15 years of experience in:
- Protection Relays
- Protection & Control Systems
- Substation Automation
- Power System Engineering
- Technical Consulting / Application Engineering
