Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced QA Lead with 8-10 years of experience, preferably in the Life Insurance domain, to lead end-to-end quality assurance activities across insurance applications. The candidate will be responsible for test strategy, planning, execution, defect management, team leadership, and ensuring high-quality releases across application, integration, and production environments.

Responsibilities

- Lead the complete QA lifecycle including requirement analysis, test planning, test execution, defect management, and closure.
- Prepare Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, RTM, and Test Summary Reports.
- Review business and functional requirements and identify test coverage, gaps, dependencies, and risks.
- Lead functional, integration, regression, system, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing.
- Ensure comprehensive testing of Life Insurance business processes, including: New Business / Proposal Policy Issuance, Underwriting, Premium Calculation, Policy Servicing, Endorsements, Renewals, Claims, Lapse / Revival, Surrender / Maturity, Agent/Broker processes, Customer onboarding, Payment and collection.
- Coordinate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, Project Managers, and business teams.
- Manage the QA team, allocate testing activities, track progress, and ensure timely delivery.
- Review test cases and ensure adequate functional and business coverage.
- Manage defects through the complete lifecycle and conduct defect triage with stakeholders.
- Analyze root causes of critical/repeated defects and drive preventive actions.
- Track QA metrics such as test execution %, defect density, defect leakage, reopen rate, and test coverage.
- Coordinate SIT, UAT, pre-production, and production validation activities.
- Support release planning and provide QA sign-off based on defined quality criteria.
- Identify testing risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks and communicate them proactively.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and establish QA best practices and standards.
- Ensure adherence to defined QA processes,



documentation, and quality standards.
- Participate in production issue analysis and support RCA for defects reported after release.

Required Technical Skills

- Robust experience in Manual Testing and QA processes.
- Good knowledge of STLC, SDLC, Defect Life Cycle, and QA methodologies.
- Strong experience in: Functional Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, System Testing, End-to-End Testing, Smoke/Sanity Testing, UAT Support.
- Good hands-on experience with SQL/Database validation.
- Experience in API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Good understanding of REST APIs and JSON/XML validation.
- Experience with defect/test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience in test estimation, planning, execution tracking, and reporting.
- Knowledge of automation testing concepts is an added advantage.

Life Insurance Domain Skills

- The candidate should have strong understanding of Life Insurance business processes, preferably covering: New Business Policy Administration, Proposal Processing, Underwriting, Premium Benefits, Policy Issuance, Policy Servicing, Policy Alterations, Renewal, Lapse, Revival, Surrender, Maturity, Claims Processing, Agent/Advisor Management, Commission, Payment Gateway/Collection, Customer/Policy Portal, Regulatory and compliance-related validations.

Leadership / Stakeholder Management

- Lead a QA team of testers and manage day-to-day testing activities.
- Conduct test case and defect review sessions.
- Coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Provide daily/weekly QA status reports.
- Communicate testing risks, issues, dependencies, and release readiness to management.
- Drive continuous improvement in QA processes and testing efficiency.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
