Systems Engineer - Enterprise tool / Platform Engineering
Experience: 5+ Years
Location: Hyderabad/ Pune
Primary skills- Scripting/Automation, APIs & Integrations, Enterprise Observability & Monitoring & Platform Tools
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise tool environments relevant to the assigned track.
- Develop and manage integrations between enterprise platforms and business applications using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and automation frameworks.
- Build and maintain scripting/automation to reduce repetitive operational work and standardize routine tasks.
- Take end-to-end operational ownership proactive monitoring, root cause analysis (RCA), recurring issue reduction, and continuous improvement rather than only reactive ticket resolution.
- Act as a primary technical resource for incidents and escalations within the assigned platform area.
- Apply an automation/AI mindset proactively using up-to-date AI-assisted tools for scripting, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge repositories.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, application, and vendor teams for issue resolution.
Enterprise Tools / Platform Engineering
- Administer and support BMC Control-M scheduling infrastructure batch jobs, workflows, dependencies, and calendars.
- Support enterprise observability and monitoring capabilities across the current and evolving toolset, with focus on dashboarding, alerting, integrations, telemetry visibility, event/log analysis, and actionable operational insights. Candidates should be able to apply core observability concepts across different products rather than depend on expertise in one specific platform.
- Support source control and platform tooling such as GitHub and Rancher.
- Troubleshoot job failures, monitoring/observability gaps, integration issues,
and platform performance problems across the supported toolset.
- Implement scheduling standards, automation policies, observability practices, dashboards, alerting, and monitoring solutions that improve platform reliability and operational visibility.
- Support upgrades, migrations, and environment maintenance for owned platforms.
Required Skills
- Strong scripting/automation ability (e.g., PowerShell, Shell, Python, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, and integration/middleware platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) skills.
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
- Demonstrated operational ownership mindset, with willingness to use AI-assisted tools for scripting, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Ability to learn and support multiple enterprise platforms beyond a single tool.
- API Integrations and Automation
Enterprise Tools / Platform Engineering
- Meaningful hands-on experience with one or more of the following areas is expected; broad expertise across all individual products is not required:
- BMC Control-M Job Scheduling & Automation, Workflow Design & Dependency Management, Batch Processing
- Observability / Monitoring Platforms hands-on experience with one or more enterprise monitoring, APM, log analytics, or digital-experience platforms. Strong understanding of monitoring/observability concepts, dashboarding, alerting, integrations, event/log analysis, and troubleshooting is more important than expertise in any single product. Relevant product experience may include AppDynamics, Grafana, Nagios, OpenSearch, or comparable tools; Dynatrace, Splunk, Apty, and similar technologies are examples of transferable experience.
- GitHub source control and CI/CD-adjacent workflows
- Rancher container/platform management
- ServiceNow familiarity is a plus but not a mandatory screening criterion for this track.
