Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Analyst with 3+ years of experience in analyzing, supporting, and maintaining enterprise Mainframe applications. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM, along with good analytical and troubleshooting skills.

The candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements, analyzing existing applications, identifying production issues, performing impact analysis, and working closely with development, testing, and business teams to deliver effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into functional/technical solutions.
- Analyze existing Mainframe applications, programs, jobs, and data flows.
- Perform impact analysis for application enhancements and change requests.
- Investigate production incidents, job failures, abends, and data-related issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and identify appropriate solutions.
- Review and understand COBOL programs and JCL job flows.




- Work with DB2 databases and analyze SQL/data-related issues.
- Understand CICS transactions and application processing.
- Work with VSAM files and related data structures.
- Coordinate with developers, testers, business users, and production support teams.
- Support system testing, integration testing, releases, and production implementation.
- Prepare functional specifications, technical documentation, and impact analysis documents.
- Provide production support and ensure timely resolution of critical issues.

Required Skills

- 3+ years of experience in Mainframe application development/support/analysis.
- Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
- Good understanding of CICS and VSAM.
- Experience in production support and incident management.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform application and impact analysis.
- Good understanding of SDLC and testing processes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to understand business requirements and map them to technical solutions.
