Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous, organized, and proactive Lab In-charge (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) to oversee the smooth functioning of the school's science laboratories. The ideal candidate will ensure that all lab activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the academic and experimental requirements of the IB curriculum. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and effective coordination with teachers and students to create a safe and engaging environment for scientific learning and exploration.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and maintain the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories to ensure they are well-equipped, safe, and operational at all times.
- Prepare and organize materials, reagents, and equipment required for practical sessions, demonstrations, and assessments.
- Assist teachers during lab sessions by setting up experiments and ensuring all apparatus are functional and safe.
- Monitor and enforce laboratory safety protocols, including the proper use and storage of chemicals, glassware, and scientific instruments.
- Maintain detailed inventory records of chemicals, consumables, and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and replenishment.
- Regularly calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment, reporting any malfunction or repair needs.
- Manage the disposal of chemical and biological waste in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Support teachers and students in internal assessments (IAs),



practical projects, and research work by providing technical assistance and supervision.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for lab materials, repair services, and safety inspections.
- Ensure all labs comply with IB standards for experimental learning and promote a culture of inquiry, safety, and scientific integrity.
- Assist in organizing science fairs, exhibitions, and workshops, contributing to the school's experiential learning initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Prior experience as a lab assistant, lab technician, or lab in-charge in an educational institution.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety standards and handling of scientific equipment.
- Familiarity with IB or international school practices in laboratory management is an advantage.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and teamwork.
- Proficient in using basic computer applications and digital tools for documentation and inventory management.
- A proactive and safety-conscious approach to managing student and staff interactions in lab settings.

Work Time

7:40 AM to 3:45 PM (Monday to Saturday)
